tell me, im curious, what is this book/game about anywho??????

 

It's a murder mystery about a guy named Keiichi who just moved to a small village named Hinamizawa. In Hinamizawa they hold a yearly festival, called the Watanagashi ('cotton drifting') festival, and on the night of that festival, one person dies and one person disappears. It has happened for the last four or five years before he showed up, after a murder where someone was cut into pieces. There were plans to build a dam that would put Hinamizawa underwater, and the victim of that first murder was the dam's director. Because the village was fighting back and one of the six (I believe) culprits are still on the loose, the local police suspect some or all of the village had a hand in the murder, and the rest of the murders that follow.

Keiichi's friends won't give him any information on the matter and even claim it never happened, even though he's found proof and been told by others about it. Because of this, he starts growing increasingly suspicious of his friends, as they could be after his life next. ~

That's the first arc, anyway. The show as a whole is to try and figure out the culprit or reason for all of it, which you don't find out until the second season. =3

But yeah, it's a great series. And I have to say the answer to the whole thing was not what I was expecting. o.o

That and it's supposedly one of the scariest, most twisted animes out there. It might be a murder mystery, but it falls into the horror genre. DX

I'd post an excerpt but I might get in trouble. XD; Perhaps an AMV, I tend to use the not-as-bloody scenes in mine so it should be okay (little bloody anyway though) -- Right here.

In terms of bloodiness (is that a word? DX) it's up there with Elfen Lied and Berserk. Perhaps not as gory but still gory and extremely violent when it is, plus a creepy atmosphere DX.

oh well, ive always enjoyed spoilers too so, well see....plus i really dont have much intent on watching it, i really dislike horror and thriller movies.....why would u scare yourself half to death???

 

I didn't plan on it being that scary DX. But behind the gruesome killing and whatnot there's a lot of depth, whch is what most horror and thriller movies lack. That's what made it stand out to me.

Otherwise believe me, I would never have watched it. It was SCARY. DX I thought I was gonna be scarred for life for a while after finishing, and I put off watching the second season for a few months because I didn't think I could handle that all over again.

But the second season isn't as scary at all, so. Just a few scenes.

LOL, XD Even I haven't made 300 (I don't think DX). Thanks though, but it really isn't that hard. Just the right software and some practice.
