i dont really think he sings that good, but i dont blame him the song has its tricky parts

so, im gonna tell him to check the thread himself this time for him to see i actually posted his song

    btw

i think calm songs are easier to sing because you have almost complete control of your sound, voice, and you dont have to give extravagant notes...........

Well, he could be alot worse when you think of it.

Yea slow songs are the easiest to sing, there are so many ways it helps.

i guess youre right ,i guess his singing is good(i didnt wanna say it)but its really good

but i have better control..........so i have an advantage

if you have control ,even if youre voice isnt so great you can control it to sound better

Yea, control is an important thing too, even with a great voice with no control you wouldn't be able to sing very well.

A cover is when somebody sings a song that somebody else wrote.

Well I'd first like to ask where it was that you found a karaoke version of simple and clean?

Other than that, I think i'd rather here his singing talents on a song that is more...i'm not sure...this one just seemed like it wasn't right for his voice tone. He sounded good, but I think a different song would be better. Also felt like there were a few sections where he wasn't sure if he should jump up to the higher notes or stay an octave below.

ummm, yeah simple and clean is really hard to sing for a guy.......i tried it but its to hard and the song being so quick in the guitar version doesnt help............

    btw

    K a i r i has the decided to sticky the thread ,shes the best, i in behalf of everyone here thanks k a i r i ,

    thanks k a i r i

btw no that wasnt the karaoke version its the guitar version, the guitar version is only the instruments its easier ,because you doint have to remove the vocals, but i can remove the vocals of some songs

Simple & Clean can be sung by a guy, just you really have to make it your own. Obviously the melody should be very similar to the original, but forming your own phrases and changing the rhythm to suit your own personal preferences helps your voice shine in a song that most would say isn't 'made for you'. Naturally there are limits, since I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed hearing Al Jareau singing Mariah Carey's Dreamlover, but there is certainly some major improvement if one takes a song into their own hands.

Personally, for both Simple & Clean/Hikari and Passion/Sanctuary, I prefer slowing down the tempo a whole lot and just extending a few phrases here and there.

EDIT: Slow songs are equally difficult as fast songs. It's what's in the song that decides which one is more difficult at the time. What if a slow song had a 16-bar phrase, and at one point you have to hold a note for over 15 beats? Additionally, let's say for 7 of those 15 beats require you to sing at a molto piano, then for the next 4-5 beats you have to gradually crescendo to a double forte, and then hold that volume for the last 3-4--ALL on the same breath of air? Let's throw in some augmented fourth intervals in there too while we're at it. Not so easy now in comparison to a fast, upbeat song in C major with intervals no larger than a perfect fifth?

While it's true that control is a large part of singing well, let's not make assumptions that aren't justified.
