For no real reason, I thought i'd make this thread. Basically I thought what is the Game of the Decade (2001-2010) for you? Out of all the games that have been released in the last 10 years, what game is a must play? A game that everyone should own? What's redefined gaming? What have you spent hours playing over and over again and would still go back to again? I'll say mine in due time. To help, I'll add a list of the Game of the Year between 2001-2010 chosen by Game Developers Choice Award. Maybe they'll give you ideas: 2011: Red Dead Redemption 2010: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 2009: Fallout 3 2008: Portal 2007: Gears of War 2006: Shadow of the Colossus 2005: Half-Life 2 2004: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2003: Metroid Prime 2002: Grand Theft Auto III 2001: The Sims Now post and tell us what and why you've picked yourgame for Game of the Decade?
The most innovative game I can recall as of now, has to be Portal 2. Portal was good, but Portal 2 was even better. Halo as well, in particular Reach because of the huge changes and Forge World.
As far as personal taste, I'd say Fallout 3, but Half Life 2 would have to take the spot. GTAIII would have to be in the number two spot seeing as how it revolutionized the gaming world. Edit: Just went back and played Half Life 2 over. No doubt in my mind, this is the game of the decade, if not the best of all time.
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. It's got an amazing story, good voice acting / actors, good characters, and a lot of other good stuff.
