You'd think the History Channel would be really boring

I love those shows. My family and I watched them both earlier.

I like the old show that they used to have: Human Weapon.
These two guys would travel around the world learning different forms of self defense.
Dissecting ancient battles is quite cool as well.
I also like the weapons. I <3 weapons...
Learning about swords, knives, and guns and their origin makes me happy.
Weird huh? I like weapons, but hate unnecessary violence *shrug*

I remember there was once this TV show where they had computer generated fights between two historical armies and the contestants each week would come up with a strategy to beat them. Of course it actually was two guys on computers (which you could actually see in the background) playing some type of Age of Empires game while letting these three random snobs think they where coming up with strategies xD It was a good show for a while.

I downloaded an episode or two of that on Xbox Live. I think the one I watched was Mafia vs Yakuza?

Yeah, that was bullshit. I dunno if they put more thought into their other episodes but I didn't buy any of that. And I love how they listed the reasons why each would have an advantage over the other, then turned pretty much every last one of them on their side in the "simulation" at the end.

I'll watch the World War II stuff, but other than that, the Discovery Channel is more my thing.

I think your thinking of Deadliest Warrior. What I'm talking about was an English show with what was literally two people playing something like Age of Empires.

Shame I can't remember the name or you'd be able to find it xD
But yeah, I agree with you that Deadliest Warrior was pretty much bullshit xD

And who were those fuckers they got to testify for each group? I mean, from the one I watched, I can believe there are Mafiosi and Yakuza in this day and age, that's not terribly far-fetched. And I guess they knew their stuff. But would people like that really agree to go on a show like that? I just don't buy it.

And I love how their basic argument for the Mafia winning was that they're better at crowd control. Both groups live in CITIES. There are places to HIDE. And Yakuza have better accuracy at a distance. Plus they are more diligent. The mafia got together to stay alive; the Yakuza did it to die for each other.

Y'know what would be an awesome fight? Hernán Cortés and a few squads of his men versus Miyamoto Musashi and a handful of samurai. That'd be fucking awesome to watch.

They did have samurai versus spartan at one point. Guess who won? Hint is everyone I told the answer to raged as hard as I did.

I think I saw that episode and glossed over it because I didn't want to see how they'd butcher it. But go ahead and tell me... Oh, and the reasoning, too. Because that's the biggest BS part of the show.

They said the Spartan would win because of thicker armor. They totally ignored that Spartans were trained to fight in groups and that samurai were the rough equivalent of knights not heavy infantrymen.
