Hating a minority just because of one person is pretty silly, to be honest.

 

Really? Because it sounds like a good enough reason to me. He will forever have that instinction in her mind because of it. We don't complain when a woman gets raped by a straight man and she doesn't wholely trust men anymore. It's the same thing--but disliking gays is looked down upon in this world, making them seemed shunned from society.

 

On a purely rational level, you're right. But psychology follows different rules.

That's not to say he shouldn't work to move past that bias, because he totally should, but you can't expect to cure him by just saying "Cease this tomfoolery."

 

The first gay guy I met, I still don't like him.
Not because he's gay, that's why I wanted to get to know him. He's just so damn annoying.
I always thought people gave him **** because he was gay and I thought that was low so I befriended him.
You know how there are those people that you dislike at first, but are then really cool when you get to know them?
He's the complete opposite.

 

Of course on a purely rational level. I have several big reasons to hate certain groups, but it's just insanely irrationally stupid to generalize a group over one person's mistake.
At least I try not to be biased.

 

Calm down, you are giving equal to or greater hate to the anti-gay people than the anti-gay people give to the gay society. Good work, your helping the hate of the world circulate, something the world could do with not happening.

Good on you for being able to control them, I was talking to my youth minister about his position on homosexuality and he said he knows a gay priest and he has a lot of respect for him because he can abstain his urges through the strength of his faith.

The minister told me that as some people have said before me that gay sex is the sin, not being gay. I definately agree with Bushido about the fact most people can abstain from homosexual urges - I think people who are gay should not lie or not be true to themselves but they should abstain if they think they should for ethical reasons but if they don't abstain that's their choice and I feel a bit sorry for them...
