The question is...will the crowbar be enough to actually cut the strings these monsters seem to have? I'm still not sure which choice to make.

It didn't say there were strings attached to it. D:

    Unless I missed something...

And by fighting to protect, I think she will see that you want to defend her, and would do anything to help her. WHICH may eventually inspire her to reveal the secret of the book later.

You cowards, we're saving anyway so it doesn't matter if we die. We might as well go all out hero, get some respect from Snow and if it works it'll be better in the long run due to those morality points. The only thing is what weapon to use. How big is the knife?

I'll go: Save. Equip your crowbar and charge after the monster.

Plus guys, if the monster comes in the room, and you're stuck in the wardrobe, you might drown in slime if it tries to get in. JUST SAYIN~ There will be no way out unless a miracle happens.

Every time you get stuck in a closet in Fatal Frame, you always, ALWAYS die or get trapped. You'll have to fight it eventually, might as well do it now when you're not trapped and what not.

Ya bunch of pansies, we are a man! And we're going to do what ever self respecting man would do, arsony!

[X] Save. Throw your lantern out into the hallway, starting a fire as a distraction while you bolt for another room, outside, or upstairs.

We're burning this sucker down. (Even though my vote has no chance of winning by this point.)

@Merida; Chev is referring to the first monster, which was defeated by cutting off 'puppet strings' with the knife. c:
    @Midnight, About this size.

You ultimately decide to hide, shutting the bedroom door and locking it (though that won't really do anything), grabbing Snow's hand and pulling her to the wardrobe. She squeaks but follows. You try to fit in with her, but then realize it's much too small for the both of you. You can hear the monster screech again. What do you do?

    What do you do?

[] Snatch the book and throw Snow out of the wardrobe, climbing into it and closing it. That should keep the monster distracted enough.
[] Let Snow hide, readying your knife or crowbar. (Please specify which).
[] Let Snow hide in the wardrobe and try to hide under the master bed.
[] Tell Snow to hide under the bed and get into the wardrobe yourself.

Again, doesn't seem so wise. You could get trapped. ._. Plus the thing would just retreat back to the cellar.

Right... that didn't go as planned.
Well, we still have our save from before. We might as well be a man now. I mean... whether we confronted the thing in the hall way or in here... I guess it doesn't matter now. XD

...I don't get why you can't use both the knife and crowbar, but yeah. :P

THERE! YOU SEEEEE?! Maka was RIGHT! HA!

    Okay, enough gloating here.

[X] Let Snow hide, readying your knife or crowbar. (Please specify which).

Now you have lesser room to fight or run if things get bad. So be caaaaareful. ><

Should've tried to take it on BEFORE this happened- *shot*

Although if the crowbar doesn't work, you can always use a broken mirror or an umbrella as a defense, I guess. >> But as one does in Silent Hill and Resident Evil, hit it as hard as you can!

And the reason for this choice instead of the others (just to show I just don't want to fight this thing): Hiding in the wardrobe wasn't a great plan, and I know a LOT of beds you can't hide under. Plus, that leaves you trapped more if it's cramped, or maybe there's a board or something in the way so you can't get under there. Don't take that risk.

Also, obviously snatching that book is a very, very bad idea. Snow made it very clear to you why. Who knows, you trying to take it from her probably summoned that monster in the first place. If you touch it, it could be like Pandora's box. Careful~

Not being funny my dear, Maka (*glomps*), but you may be incorrect there.
After all, what if we had been cornered in a small hall way. That would give less room to run and to fight.
The room might ultimately be smaller, but it's a better size to move about in than a narrow hall.
Besides, ultimately, Monster is Monster. It's pretty much going to be the same situation no matter where we fight it. lol

    I edited my post.

But by being in the hallway, you have more choices of which room to go into. Which room it would be, you would have to keep it in mind and find it quickly. That way, you probably could've stumbled in a bigger room and find a more useful weapon than a crowbar. Then again, you could be monster chow if you got cornered or ran across a room that is locked.

So ha. Maka is still thinking. ^^

    As am I. :P
Although, I am now amused by the prospect of the music room and just picking up the piano to throw at the monster (I can't get the image out of my head :P, after all, it seems like a good weapon to me. XD)
To be fair... We could have found something just as useful in this room. And besides, we needed to give Snow some clothes... so.. It wasn't a bad choice still lol
But I digress, we could keep going on about this for pages lol
Ultimately it's happened now, and that is that.
If we die, we just choose not to hide in the wardrobe next time. :P
After all, we still have that save.

My guess: this whole story is an RPG, and Snow is our party's mage.

But you just wasted it! D: They're like Moonstones on Fatal Frame, you only get like TWO in the whole game.

I was saying we should've moved outta the room when we had the chance. Now we're stuck. :\

    Hopefully we'll get out of this alive. ;~;

[x] Let Snow hide in the wardrobe, readying your crowbar

Id like to keep both of them at ready, one in each hand, but since it seems that that isnt going to happen, ill use the crow bar first. and then when the monster knocks that out of my hands, i can still go for my knife. besides, if KH2Man is right, and Snows the mage, i want her in the back of my party so she doesnt die when the monster looks at her funny.

I'd like to point out that holding a crowbar with one hand wouldn't be a very good battle strategy. If we are to assume these monsters are puppets animated by magic, then we only need to cut their strings to defeat them.

In which case, a knife would do the job quicker. But we have no idea how much combat experience our hero has.

That's what I'm afraid of. D: I was thinking about changing it to knife as soon as someone confirmed the string thing to me.

To do it... or not to do it...

We're not a caveman, a knife should work better if we aim for the stings(a shuriken would work better, but hey, work with what you've got).
It might help if Snow would just snap her fingers and burn the beastie, she has to do that much.
