I'm so changing mine back to knife. D: My logic with the crowbar had a lack of the idea that the monsters had strings until Chev pointed them out earlier and someone confirmed to me what happens with the strings. ><

Although, can we be sure this monster would be the same as the last?
If it doesn't have strings... then we might be better off with a Crowbar. Albeit, we should stay prepared for such a scenario.
I shall edit my original post to say knife also.

    @everyone; sorry.

Warning; Graphic post might be graphic. Reader discretion advised.

    “Shit, what now?
†You groan. Aware of the fact that you have two weapons to chose from, you ultimately decide on drawing your knife. It didn't fail you last time, and if all of these monsters have those strings you had to deal with last time, then the crowbar might just not get the job done. You don't really feel like fighting at all, but it's better to be prepared for a fight then to try to hide—and fail. Your stomach is flipping, head pounding. You're really not much of a fighter at all. I mean, you play violent video games and all, but actual fights? Not so much. Yet here you are with a knife in hand trying to defend your life.

You step back away from the door, listening for the deafening shrieks that let you know the monster is drawing closer. Instead, you're met with silence. You hear Snow shift uncomfortably in the wardrobe and sigh. Maybe it's gone? You feel your shoulders began to un-tense, and just as you're ready to put your knife away, you're knocked off of your feet as the creature bursts through the door, wood and metal flying at you.

Bracing yourself as best as you can, you lift your head and scramble back to your feet. You feel the warm trickle of blood slide down your forehead and cheek, and shudder. Your knuckles go white from how hard you're clutching the knife now. Your eyes meet that of large, black shiny orbs. Button-like and soulless, they pierce into you. This monster is smaller than the last, limbs stitched on like a rag doll, head limp and propped up with a needle. Between the seams and thread oozes a thick goop just like the last.

Your eyes scan automatically upward, searching for the strings controlling this demon as it teeters towards you. You feel stiff, knowing to be weary of the liquid and the speed it's bound to have. You still can't see them—the strings. Taking a leap of faith, you chuck the knife forward where the strings should be, feeling your back hit the wall behind you. You expect the monster to vanish like before, but instead, it releases a loud shriek again. You press your palms to your ears, but it's not enough to block out the sound. You fall to your knees, gritting your teeth in pain.

The beast is before you now, hovering over you like a spirit. As soon as you feel the hot globs of slime fall down over you, you know you're not going to make it. You pull your palms away and release a scream of terror as soon as you see your blood begin to drip down, feeling your clothes melt away and skin begin to burn. Before you can even register your muscle tissue begin to tear and eat away at itself, the demon opens it's wide jaw...

    > YOU HAVE DIED. RESTORED FROM SAVE POINT.

    > YOU HAVE LEARNED THAT UNLESS THERE IS SUNLIGHT, THE STRINGS OF THESE PARTICULAR MONSTERS ARE NOT VISIBLE TO YOU.

    What do you do?

[] Snatch the book and throw Snow out of the wardrobe, climbing into it and closing it. That should keep the monster distracted enough.
[] Let Snow hide, readying your knife or crowbar. (Please specify which).
[] Let Snow hide in the wardrobe and try to hide under the master bed.
[] Tell Snow to hide under the bed and get into the wardrobe yourself.

You wake up one morning in a weird place, you do some stuff and end up with a lantern and some old fashioned clothes. You travel down a hall way and hear a scream along with the growls of a monster. You run to the person's rescue, kick a monster's ass with your knife and discover a girl named Snow, who has this book of spells you can't read. You decide to travel with snow and go upstairs, entering the main floor I've recently provided a screenshot of. You decide to explore the master bedroom first.

Because you left the cellar door open, a monster from below followed after you. You try to hide with Snow, but that doesn't work. Here you are.

I do not like any of these options, specifically the part where we have to split up. Trial and error, so...

    • Let Snow hide, readying your crowbar.

Remember that if Snow dies, the game does not necessarily have to end for us. We do not restart if she dies, only if we do.

I agree with this logic, since we can keep restarting if we need to. We should keep Snow alive since if she dies but we live that is it for her, for now let us work on trial and error to see if we can both survive.

[x] Let Snow hide, readying your crowbar.

I say the crowbar as well for the reason that since we cannot see the strings and a knife is useless, let us bash the hell out of the thing.
If we die, we will try something else.

I really don't think the crowbar is going to fair any better, but may as well try it.

    “Shit, what now?
†You groan. Aware of the fact that you have two weapons to chose from, you ultimately decide on drawing your crow bar. You haven't tried this yet, but you must have it for a reason. Maybe slashing the strings isn't the only way to kill these things? Besides, what if there were no strings? You don't really feel like fighting at all, but it's better to be prepared for a fight then to try to hide—and fail. Your stomach is flipping, head pounding. You're really not much of a fighter at all. I mean, you play violent video games and all, but actual fights? Not so much. Yet here you are with a crow bar in hand trying to defend your life.

You feel your shoulders began to un-tense, and just as you're ready to put your weapon away, you're knocked off of your feet as the creature bursts through the door, wood and metal flying at you.

Bracing yourself as best as you can, you lift your head and scramble back to your feet. You feel the warm trickle of blood slide down your forehead and cheek, and shudder. Your eyes meet that of large, black shiny orbs. Button-like and soulless, they pierce into you. This monster is smaller than the last, limbs stitched on like a rag doll, head limp and propped up with a needle. Between the seams and thread oozes a thick goop just like the last.

Your eyes scan quickly for any sign of the strings controlling the monster, but you find none. You rid your mind of that notion and search for any other possible way to defeat this thing. It's obviously got everything over you. Speed, strength, power; but it seems to be confused. It's almost as if it can't tell whether it should attack you or not. Is it blind? Another shift from the wardrobe makes the beast turn it's head, a low rumbling growl heard from it's throat. Then the shriek comes.

You press your palms to your ears, but this one is less discombobulating than the last. Is it because it wasn't directed at you? Does this thing even know you're there? Snow moves in the wardrobe again and you shiver. What an idiot, can't she stay still?

The puppet shrieks again, but then makes a move towards the girl instead. You almost sigh in relief, but then realize she's your party member companion and you have to do something to help her. She's supposed to be the safe one, not you. Without words, and quite clumsily, you stumble towards the creature—it's back turn towards you. You're honestly not sure how this crowbar is going to help you, but you're desperate to get it's attention back to you. You lift your arm and swing it down with force into the cloth of the beast. Immediately, it stiffens up and roars.

“Don't forget about me! Dumbass, can't you see I'm the threat?â€

It roars again, but something is wrong. Your crowbar snags onto a piece of thread holding the damn thing together and it cocks its head to the side. You pull with force, partially to get your weapon back and partially knowing this is somehow hurting the thing. As soon as the thread rips, the monster thrashes and the oozing substance gushes from the tear. You want to puke. The smell is horrid and you can hear Snow whimper from the closet. Feeling a burn on your finders from the growing trickle of acid or whatever sliding down the crow bar, you yank it back harder, stumbling to your butt. The demon roars at you (or in your direction) and you instinctively try and cover your ears, groaning yourself. It thrashes, desperately trying to cover the gash you've left as it trudges towards you, screeching and fumbling—torn between keeping the tear closed and killing you.

Before it even makes it to you, the substance has pooled and spilled all over the floor, the rags and fabrics the doll was created from falling—empty.

You really don't know if this means it's dead or not. But it's definitely not moving anymore, and it just looks like a bunch of **** on top of a puddle. You scramble to your feet.

“Hey, Snow? I think...I think we should go now.â€

You hear her giggle, pushing open the wardrobe and jumping to a safe spot on the wood floor. She's smiling for the first time and you're about to call her a sadist, but the smile fades and she mumbling something—turning away.

    “Thank you...†/tsundere line hnnng

You finish searching the Master Bedroom and find nothing important.

Well I stand corrected, crowbars and frying pans are the way of the future.
Now I'd say the first order of business is to-

[X] Save. Close the cellar door.

You grab Snow's hand and lead her out of the bedroom, avoiding the slime trails as you walk down the hall, past the fountain and to the cellar door. You quietly close and lock it, shuddering. That way any sound you make up here won't be as obvious.
