I'm starting to get in to so many things on my laptop and connecting so much crap to it, I feel like I actually need to buy a real desktop computer right now. You know why that's scaring me? Because first off, I have no room for it, and secondly, it'd cost me a nightmare + a million just to afford it......at the very least I need a bigger room so I can get a better desk for myself....and maybe a better paying job.

I would reaaaally love to build myself a desktop but I sadly have some financial obligations preventing me. Tired of the laptop life.

My desk isn't terribly large and I loooove it. IKEA has a lot of options if there's one near you.

Same. I was loving my laptop until I sold my PS3 copy of Dark Souls in order to upgrade to the PC version and then realized that there is no way I can run it. Damn Steam sales.

That's when I realized that I really need to make a dedicated gaming PC. Then I can get all my big games off my laptop.

I'm still attached to my laptop. Given where I am in life it works perfectly for me. I travel a lot during the summers and all of my relatives live far away so it's nice to be able to take it with me so I can keep living. Like right now. When I'm in school it doesn't have any immediate benefits over a pc, but the idea of being able to have it with me at school if need be is comforting. Whenever I move out and however my life changes when I do so is when I'll probably start thinking about switching to a pc (not buying, just planning), but for now mobility is very nice.

Oh totally, I wouldn't want to get rid of my laptop. I had a desktop a few years back but since I was commuting to college I wanted a laptop I could take around with me. But I'd like to get into PC gaming & be able to do some more intensive stuff that my laptop can't handle.

Having both is really nice. Especially when you realise you can sit in the lounge and stream your Steam games to your laptop with no issues, then put your laptop in a bag and go out.

I swear there's a small electromagnetic bubble around my room, cause there's just so much stuff.

Also, building a decent PC isn't that costly anymore. A good AMD system will be pretty damn cheap and run very well.

I have never had a laptop, I love my desktop because it would be very hard to steal >:3 then again, it also means I can't steal it away and go somewhere with it. It also means that I can't easily move it closer to the internet router when my internet is being a turd...

Even an Intel build with an i3 can be had for a couple hundred bucks. That's a decent chunk of money for students and all but still reasonable imo

You guys can build PC's that are far smaller than the usual desktop, but still have the same power.

Just look at this build, this build, or this build. The main thing is being able to fit whatever parts you want/need into a smaller case and keeping it all compatible.

AMD and intel are companies that make computer parts.
