It's funny because I was just thinking about how people have so much pride about being a "'90's kid", when in reality, it's no better than any generation when you think about it. "Music wasn't this crappy back then." Well, a lot of it was, we just chose not to remember that stuff because it was crap. That's why the "classics" is only a small handful of songs.

i am so sick of this 90s fad. its not cool or special anymore
especially people my age who claim to be a 90s kid but would have at most been like 5 by the end of the decade.
i was born in 95. im not a 90s kid. im a 00s kid and proud of it.
i dont think that pride is born out of a sense of superiority (though the 90s is idolized more than most for some reason), but simply nostalgia. most people remember their childhoods fondly. the things they watched, the things they listened to. memories. there will always be an inherent bias for what people experienced growing up compared to things that came before or after it. for example i feel that childrens television these days is objectively worse than even a decade ago, but then i wonder if they really are worse or if that's just my bias. would a kid growing up with these things look back at the things i watched when i was young and think theyre better or not?
    and now im rambling

I get what you mean though, about the nostalgia factor. Your love looking back at the memory, but don't want to because you don't want to destroy that image. When I was a kid, I loved the Pokemon series like crazy, but when I watch it now, I can only stomach an episode or two at a time because of how dated it feels. On the other hand, I loved Kiki's Delivery Service when I was a kid; I'd try to find out when it was playing on Disney Channel. I was afraid to rewatch it when I bought it again years later because if I thought it was terrible, then I probably wouldn't've had the same feeling. I do like it though, but for different reasons than I did as a kid.

I think I'm a 1990s kid. I was born in 1991. Unless you're saying for me to be a 1990s kid, I would have had to be born in the mid or late 1980s.

I think you are probably a 90's kid, most of your childhood was within that time.

    I was 6 by 2000, I don't remember the 90's overly well so I am probably more a 00s kid because I remember that a lot better.
