    That's not even close. There are four basic kinds of "stuff" that bake up the body: Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and nucleic acids. Each of these can be converted into different amounts of ATP, which is the "fuel" that the body uses. I'll just call it "energy" to simplify things. The point of exercising to lose weight is to force the body to consume energy, causing it to process different materials into fuel. It starts with carbohydrates because they're the easiest and provide the most energy. Over time the body stores away any unused carbs as fat. Once the body is out of carbohydrates, it starts using fat, which provides less energy and is harder to process.
