You can't call yourself a gamer is havn't played a Final Fantasy game

Look I'm just saying that FF is an awesome series and most gamers should have at least heard of it.

 

Nuh. The FF series, in my honest opinion, is rather overrated. You are NOT required to know of a bigass franchise to be considered a gamer

A gamer is basically a person who likes video games a lot, plays them at least every day of the week and enjoys them. It is NOT about WHAT you play.

 

Mario was just win.

You have to play SOME Mario game prior to 1999 in order to be a hardcore gamer. Otherwise you're just a gamer.

 

Dude I'm just saying that's my opinion. I mean I believe that's mostly for RPG gamers but don't take it so seriously. I just tried to say that a lot of gamers mostly those who play RPGs know about FF. That's all!!! End of arguement!!! Sheesh. I don't like to be rude you know!! I'm usually a very care-free person!!!

FF have really good graphic, and they also improve their graphic in every FF!
They also improve their gameplay, and I really like the gameplay on FF XII!!>w<

Well, I exist to negate blind fanboy-ism like this. So let's begin.

1. Why "must" we try it? What if we don't like turn-based RPG's? What you're essentially saying is that anyone who doesn't like turn-based RPG's and doesn't want to try a Final Fantasy game because they know they don't like turn-based RPG's isn't a gamer. That's some messed up logic my friend.

2. No, the graphics didn't improve that much with every Final Fantasy game. Sure, there are some notable examples (FFVII to FFVIII, etc.), but the graphics weren't always vastly improved as you're implying.

3. It's a turn-based RPG. How do you improve the gameplay in a turn-based RPG? It's the same thing except that, from what I understand, each game has somewhat different stat/item/ability elements (the sphere grid from FFX, the materia system from FFVII, etc.), and they throw in new characters and stories (I do applaud the Final Fantasy Series on its story telling though). Other than that they are all (except XII and I believe XI) turn-based RPG's.

i love final fantasy even though i've only played about three or four of the games i think it's great!

I've only played Final Fantasy III (DS) and I love the series. I just never got anymore of the games.​

 

If thats the case then i have been a gamer since i was 4 because thats when i started playing Final Fantasy IV.

 

I've played Final Fantasy 7,9 and 10.

I agree with advent on his first opinion on this thread. Just because you haven't played Final Fantasy, doesn't mean you aren't a gamer. Anyone can have an opinion if they are a gamer or not.
I still agree with Final Fantasy being a good RPG though.

 

I've only ever played VIII, X, X-2, a bit of XII and Dirge of Cerberus.

I've never really much cared about the series because there are better games out there

 

Well, also just the fact that being a gamer means you play videogames, its not something you have to earn...

 

Some people just don't learn... This argument has been killed by the few people in this thread who realize what being a gamer actually is.
