Lawl, so I guess I'm not a gamer now?

Because you know, sinking hundreds of dollars yearly into gaming isn't enough? I suppose I can't call myself a gamer until I play Final Fantasy.

I disagree~ While Final Fantasy may be a good game, there are many other Turn-based RPG's that people can play.

there's other series that calls you a gamer.

if you can rank high in the (like top 20) across XBL playing Halo 3, or CoD4, then you're a gamer.
If your achievements on XB360 ate almost perfect, then you're a gamer.
If you can beat Through the Fire and Flames on Expert, HECK! even Hard! then you're a gamer.

But thats just my opinion, if you can achieve better than most gamers.

    The title is bullsh*t XD

    That is all bullcrap. XD

You're only considered a gamer if you like games alot, not by how uber you are or what overrated games you play. XP

I believe FFVII thru FFIX were ported to the PC, as mentioned before FFXI is an MMO, and FF 1-6 are all available through console emulation.

This is one of the most opinionated video game related statements I've ever heard.

I have watched friends, relatives, and ex-boyfriends of my mom play FF games.
    VII
    VIII
    and X to be exact.

But I've only actually held the controller for a FF game during a breif period of FF VII...

I've looked everywhere For my favorites, which are VII, VIII, X, and X-2.....but I can never find anything but X-2........

Well, I like a mix of things: Halo series, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy. I think I'm a gamer...

I agree, actually. But I think it's more of, if you've never played a Square Enix game. I mean, FF is great and all, but if you've never played a Square Enix game, then you really can't call yourself a gamer.

    That is also bullsh*t D:

You cannot denounce someone as a gamer just because they didn't play a game from a specific third-party company.

But I guess some people here are so spoiled by impossibly attractive men and oddly shaped weapons that they forgot about what a gamer really is and not what a gamer should be according to some fanboy/fangirl's opinion

Finally...someone who has a point! lol...Yeah. There are better games than FF. You are only a gamer if:
    1. You play games a lot
    2. You spend a lot of money on games
    3. You like talking about games

personally, I hate Final Fantasy. I think RPGs such as Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, The 7th Saga, etc are much more powerful games.

SECRET OF MANA!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know you liked SoM. Yeah I think SoM is better than most FF games(except VII/Crisis Core). I wonder if there are people who actually think this? There probably are...

They totally are. And the turn based ones like Earthbound and Chrono Trigger have other elements that make them much more fun to play. Only a few key FF's are really any good, the rest are just turn-based rpgs using the same old classes and monsters~

This statement is just idiotic. The majority of Final Fantasy games are extremely overrated. (yes, I'm looking at you, FF VII) The early FF games were good, (namely VI and IV) but after that, it's mainly been going downhill. FF VII and VIII were both crap, FF IX was an improvement from those (and my personal favorite although from an unbiased viewpoint, I'd say IV and VI were better) and I can't say anything about FF X since I haven't played that. The only reason I like FF XII is that I just can't get enough of beating the crap out of monsters, but so far it seems pretty bad to me. (although I haven't finished it yet) A real gamer doesn't have to be a Final Fantasy fanboy - just because a series is popular doesn't mean you can't call yourself a real gamer without having played it. In my opinion, you're not a true gamer if you haven't played real RPGs such as the Lufia games, (although the mechanics in the first game are a bit meh and The Legends Return got a bit tedious later on. RoL doesn't even deserve the title of Lufia and is nothing but a crappy spin-off at best) the Mana series (Sword of Mana is a true classic and Seiken Densetsu 3 is very underrated, but in my personal opinion, a great improvement) and Chrono Trigger. Compared to those, Final Fantasy honestly isn't that great. They're not horrible games, but there are so many RPGs out there that are much better. Hence why I think one can call himself a gamer without having played Final Fantasy.
