Well although money is no substitute for what the man wanted to do, if/when he got life insuarance he was effectively letting his son know that regardless of his own agression he did care, as opposed to hating his son and not making things easier. But yes, the worst part of the ad is when its announced as a life insuarance ad.
Now as an anti-cellphone-driving advertisement, or as an anti-drink-driving advertisement, it'd be brutally effective.
