It's pretty good. I think the "BEST ZELDA EVER" quotes are a little.... strong, but it's not bad. Good portable game.

On a scale of Wind Waker HD to Skyward Sword, how good is it?

Not the scale I would have chosen, but meh.

But I'd like an opinion as well. I want another game for my 3DS, and this popped into my head.

Did you put WWHD at the worst? O.o

Uhhh on a scale of Zelda NES (1) to Majora's Mask, it's Minish Cap. Pretty clever, fun to play, a tad brutal, and much better than ALttP. I wish it had a longer beginning like TP and SS, but that's just me. It's not as good as Oracle or Link's Awakening, but good

EDIT: If you play Zelda for story, you won't like this. Villain's weak, the plot literally talks about how it's repeating ALttP, and it's just not very good dialogue. There's a really good sense of discovery here though

Worst out of liking it, yes. Because only things that are lower are the CD-I games and Twilight Princess, and you said ALBW is good.

Time to save up rupees. A shame India's economy is not doing as well, however.

    Pffft!

I think for clarification purposes, I should say that I dislike ALttP and Zelda 1. Can't get into either for different reasons[DOUBLEPOST=1385690466][/DOUBLEPOST]OKAY GUYS SO THIS GAME FEELS, LIKE, MAD SHORT. I MEAN IT. I LITERALLY STARTED TODAY AND, WHADDYA KNOW, MASTER SWORD ALREADY.

I've heard good things about it, and though I've already spoiled the entirety of the plot for myself, I've been trying to legitimately beat OoT3D so my Zelda kick is gonna need some more fuel. I grew up with ALttP, and though I have fond memories of it, I'm afraid that if I went back to it the whole game wouldn't be as enjoyable as I remember.

also, they tease the Majora's Mask remake and I've always wanted to play MM WHOO!

I just bought it today. Hopefully it's better than Skyward Sword.

So would you say that Wind Waker is better or worse than Wind Waker HD?

...EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT ZELDA SCALE AND ITS CONFUSING ME A LITTLE BIT.
If I had a 3DS...this game would have been a preorder. Though the turn into a drawing thing seems so...random at first.
How close is the storyline to aLttP, time wise? Same Link or different Link?

Diff Link. The Eastern Palace profit lives still somehow, so that must mean Link is alive. Yet, they refer to him as "all those years ago...." Um... The drawing thing is hard to get used to. I get trying to solve puzzles without, getting stuck, and being all OH WAIT I CAN CROSS THAT GAP OOPS.[DOUBLEPOST=1385778375][/DOUBLEPOST]

Listen, I adore when a game takes time to establish the world and the characters' part in it. TP was weaker than SS here- but LBW literally jut HEY YOU'RE A BLACKSMITH'S APPREN- HEY YOU'RE THE HERO OF THE WORLD. I swear it felt THAT quickly.

I' ll probably get a copy eventually but I' m in no hurry. I don' t even own a 3DS yet. From what I' ve heard you can complete the dungeons in any order you see fit, which is awesome in my book, but unfortunately the game is insanely short and easy. Granted, retrospectively ALttP wasn' t particularly long or hard either, but still. What does piss me off is that Nintendo thought of adding a hard mode but ... you have to spoil yourself the entire game in normal to unlock it ! Seriously Nintendo, why do you keep doing this ?

If you're pointing to good examples of setting establishment, I'm surprised you don't point to Wind Waker instead. It takes its time, but also doesn't waste any. If you ask me, TP spends a lil' too much time on things it could've told us in a few minutes: Link's a farm boy, he has lots of friends, also he's a hero and life is about to get really terrible and furry. SS does a better job but it still could've stood to pick up the pace a bit.
