I don't like it :C I like a lot of things, but the quotes, the yellow (too bright), and the usernames no longer being centered bother me. I don't like it too much, but I'll live. Hope there's a bug report list though.
Am I allowed to post things like thinking usernames should be centered, quotes should take the whole post, etc?
I think the only real issue I have with the new layout is that the top bar seems a little cluttered to me. Seems like the logo needs a bit more space between it and the top of the page, and it and the menu bar. right now it just sort of reminds me of the layout back in 2007. Also is it just me or is the size 1 text bigger?
I like the idea of the yellow, but I find there's too many contrasting colors. It actually hurts my eyes (and another user I won't name). That said, part of me thinks I just need to see it enough and it'll stop. I really can't peg why it does so I'm trying not to complain. The yellow thing was an inside joke.
I can add more padding if it's really bothering you, just post in the announcement thread. We also use a new font, previously we've stuck to Trebuchet MS (well, back in the day we primarily used Verdana or Tahoma). This style uses Roboto, served by google webfonts, then falls back to Trebuchet when it has to. So yeah, it might seem bigger.
If there are areas where the contrast is particularly jarring then please do report it, the ones we primarily use don't look great on top of each other, which I might have accidentally done in places. But yeah, sometimes you really just need to let it sink in for a little while.
I'll give it a day or so and if it's still bugging me, I'll make a post. The inner Graphic Design student in me just nags me about some things. which is probably why i spent several hours on my resume layout.
It's all good, as daunting as it to have heaps of "MISTY I DON'T LIKE THIS," "MISTY HOW COULD YOU," and "this does not look right" comments when a style first launches, people nagging polishes the style off in the end, so it's all worth it.
I'm going to give it a couple days first, and then sit down with the other user I mentioned and try to really compile where it is and what it is. I don't mean to make ya feel back because I actually do like the style, but I have to go lay down because looking too much at it tonight gave me a headache. Don't fret though, that might just be surprise factor amping up the contrasts. ADDENDUM EDIT: I REALLY DO FEEL BAD ACTUALLY ABOUT THIS BECAUSE AT FIRST I WAS TOTALLY JOKING.
