What I mean is, for one good you have an evil, White to Black, the Yin & the Yang for the sun you have the moon, for land you have air, water and fire, male and female, Something and nothing and so on.

    Does everything have an opposite?
Or do we have a number of different things that each have their own individuality and aren't connected to an opposite?

Personally I think the idea of opposite forces is a human concept, it isn't that nature designs everything with an opposite, it is that we humans choose an opposite for each thing.

The moon isn't the opposite of the sun. The moon is the moon.

I think that everything is individual and unique in it's own right, it doesn't neccessarily have a partner that is created as it's opposite. Black is black, white is white, everything is itself and that is all.

I am aware I am sounding rather simple with this reply, but it is how I feel xD everything by itself is unique and has it's own individuality.

Yin and Yang is interpreted in odd ways. Some are just stereotypical divisions like sun and moon, as CtR pointed out, or man and woman, dog and cat. etc. What mankind views as opposites aren't always true. I don't buy that everything has an equal opposite though. Human minds make it seem plausible but on further investigation I just have had to say no to it in this regards.

The only real way I think of Yin and Yang is as a moving process of symbolism for creation and destruction or chaos and order sort of thing...basically things living and things dying kind of thing, and that even after we are born, we are bound to die and when we die something may be born from it. Also in creation there is usually something destroyed and in destruction there are things created. Other than this concept of Yin and Yang I really don't buy into it since I can't relate to it and don't consider things polar opposites with a bit of effects of each in the other. There's a system yet it is random how it will go but studying it makes sense.

In the end it is like a spiritual explanation of Evolution, which I prefer the scientific one more but whatever works does the job.

oposites exist for the sake of compareison if it was always bright all the time there wouldnt be a bright or a dark just what it is. which can be aplyed to every situation by replacing the worda light and dark with something else

Well I remember learning that one of the great philosophers that are well known today, (I believe it was Aristotle) said that all humans are like "half spheres" everything that makes them up, personality, nationality, everything, is only half of the sphere...somewhere on this Earth there is someone with a matching personality, and when these people meet, they become "whole."

^^^I have my own thoughts on that, but I do think that many things have their opposites...and it sort of fits into the idea of the butterfly effect...doing one thing, can cause something bigger (or opposite on the other end)

So I guess we are all individuals...yet connected to something like opposite...across the world?
I dont know...i'm on the fence with this idea.

You cannot say that there are or are not opposites to everything.Division is merely an illusion
to separtate things to put themselves above each other or to facilitate order.there is no such
thing as Good or evil.Life is not black and White but a tender shade of Grey.Everything you say
here is a case of Perspective.Good and Evil is just Clashing Ideologies and one is seen as sinical
and the other is seen as Good.

Hmm. I agree with CtR. I really don't believe in Yin and Yang. There maybe some things that are opposite of each other, but to me, thats just coincidence. Otherwise, each thing is its own different thing.
