Recently I though my internet was acting up and though mom hadn't paid but the bill. But then she said it was working for everyone else and the phones were working too (same bill) and also, the internet was acting up at school as well. So then I realized it must be my laptop. I'm not sure why, but it keeps getting these moments when it'll disconnect from the internet then connect again repeatedly every 30 seconds to 1 minute or so. Now, the only way I found I could resolve this was to restart my laptop. However, even in doing so, the issue returns again at one point. It's getting really annoying to have to do this every week or so. Does anyone have an idea what could be happening? Or a way that I can fix this without having to restart and clean my laptop constantly?
It's probably an issue with your wireless card. A temporary solution would be to buy a USB dongle and use that, but if you give the name/model number of your computer I can see if it's easily replaced. Just to be sure, though, if you can, connect directly through your router with an ethernet cord and see if you get the same interruptions.
It could be possible that someone messed around with your security key--that's why it's best to always change it almost every time so that no one could figure out what it was.
