Since Tokyopop's 2011 closing, rights have been unclaimed for localizing Kingdom Hearts Manga. Queue Yen Press, a manga publishing division, that has claimed the rights for not only Kingdom Hearts, but Inu x Boku SS, Watamote, and Wolf Children.

    When can you expect some lovely English Manga, you might ask? Here are some announced release dates for the Kingdom Hearts series;

    Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Volumes I + 2 - May 2014
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories Volume I - June 2014
    Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days - November 2013
North American Manga for the series has not been released since Kingdom Hearts II Volume 2 in May of 2008, making the gap nearly 6 years since the last English release.

That reminds me, I need to get back to reading the Kingdom Hearts manga. I fell out of it about half way through.

This is good news, not only because KH manga will be returning overseas, but from what I remember Yen Press is a really nice company for distributing manga. I remember having one or two volumes of Soul Eater (I no longer have them) which was also published by Yen Press, and they were far and away better than what Viz puts out. I think I've had one Tokyopop book throughout my entire life (some Transformers Energon book a long time ago) and was not impressed by the quality at all.

Although I may sound like I know what I'm talking about, I really don't, I'm in no way a manga connoisseur, and could be completely wrong.

Wow, I didn't think it had been 6 years o.o
I've already read Days and Chain of Memories online but I'll probably still pick these up just for collection purposes.

Oh I'm so happy to hear this! I am a big fan of the Kingdom Hearts manga, I think it's positively hilarious and I really like the art. Glad to see it finally coming stateside, even if it will take a little while.

      Thanks Krowley.

This is very interesting indeed. I really like Yen Press and the manga they have. They're really good at preserving as much as possible when translating (Soul Eater, Is That A Zombie, Haruhi Suzumiya Series). It would be interesting to see these works in English print. They also know that there is an audience for this. I wonder how soon after it is released that it will be at the digital store.

I will be buying ALL of these! I just love the Kingdom Hearts Manga because it gives me more excuses to fangirl over KH while at school too annoy my friends.

Well it's about damn time someone got a hold of the rights for the KH manga. Why Yen Press, the company that usually localizes Gangan manga, didn't have the rights to begin with is beyond me. At least now I can continue with the series...granted I still need to find KHII vol 2 first.

Great to see the manga is coming back to the West! And they've licensed Doubt too aaaa those standees are pretty great. At this rate they've got licenses to several of my favorite series haha (although Doubt isn't exactly a favorite of mine I guess, but I do remember liking it well enough), they're the North American publishers of Higurashi and Umineko as well.

Those publication dates for the Final Mix manga are pretty far off though, interesting. I assume they want to move on to Days first instead of immediately republishing material that many people already have (for the most part -- what exactly does Final Mix refer to in terms of the manga?).

I have two guesses on that. It either means that they're going to be the special Yen Press translations, or they're going to release them as omnibuses.

I honestly never thought we'd see another localized KH manga. This is quite a surprise and though it doesn't feel like it's been six years since the last release, it has been too long.

Thank you Yen Press for letting me read my $8 manga in English. <3

I was never into the KH manga, but this is great news for those that were disappointed when they stopped localizing them since 2008

      SUPER excited!

I never thought we'd get an english translation of these mangas. If you've never read them, make sure you pick them up! Very well drawn and written (and with a lot more comedy based on the games and characters themselves).

I shall look forward to November. Hoping for news on the rest of the KH2 manga release as well! They left us hanging at Vol. 2!

And thus another manga is added to my list of must-reads... sigh... Will I EVER finish this list?

Being someone who fell in love with the series via the manga, this pleases me greatly. Definitely adding them to my collection once they come out.

yes Yes YES!!!!!! I had absolutely given up hope of ever seeing an English localisation of the rest of the manga. I remember once a couple of years ago seeing volume 3 and 4 of the KHII manga on Amazon and ordering them without a second though. When they arrived they were in German *heartbroken*. After waiting for so long a little while longer seems like nothing at all.

Cool, it's nice that we get the manga again. I enjoyed reading them, but since they were always so short I felt like I needed to read more of their books, but there weren't any more. At least now we'll get them, even if it's not all that soon
