"I was probably thinking too much about what kind of person Saki has become," she said. "She taught me that song." Taking a deep breath, she started to sing the melody again.

 

"It's a great song, and you sing it wonderfully." he said, listening again.

 

Arisa blushed and said, "Thank you. After I moved somewhere, I started to sing all the time to remember Saki."

 

Masota smiled. "That's great." he said. "I wish I could remember if I had any friends like that."

 

"Your memories were what you held dear, because the ring I gave up was what I held dear to me, it was the last gift Saki gave me."

 

"Yeah." he said, agreeing with her.

 

Arisa held her doll close to her body, "I wonder what Saki gave up to here?"

 

"Well, since you can barely remember your friendship, maybe that's what she gave up?" he asked.

 

"Probably, yeah..." Tears softly began to fall down her cheeks, a song she heard after she left Saki entered her mind. 'Lost in the darkness, hoping for a sign.....'

 

He saw her crying and asked "Why are you crying? Did I upset you?"

 

"Oh, no." Arisa tried to weep her tears. "It's just that's probably what Saki gave up to come here. She said our friendship is the dearest thing to her."

 

"I see." he said, Then that must be what she gave up. he thought.

 

Arisa stared down at her doll. 'If we ever met again, Saki, I won't be mad. I'll just be happy to see you again.' She held her doll close to her.

 

He smiled at the thought of her reuniting with her friend.

 

Arisa looked up at Masota and grabbed his hand. "Shall we?"

 

"Shall we what?" he asked, a little confused.

 

"Go!" Arisa smiled. "Somewhere I can learn more about Saki." She sighed.

 

"Oh!" he said, feeling like an idiot. "Yeah, sure!"

 

Arisa laughed a bit. "You're a great person to be around, Masota."

 

He blushed a little and said "Thanks. You are too."
