358/2 Days Xion's name

This may be deleted fast so i'll ask fast:

How is Xion's name pronounced?

Shion or Zion?

 

From how the other characters say it, it sounds like Shion.

 

Shion is the right answer

 

I have always pronounced it "Zion", like xylophone, because that made the most sense at the time. Apparently now, the characters say it like "Shion", but I will always refer to it as "Zion". Pick what works best, I guess.

 

It's Shion. Listen to how they say it in speaking cutscenes.

 

The name in general is pronounced "shion." The only other instance of the name I've heard is in Bloody Roar, where it is pronounced the same way.

 

I say it "Zion"


"Shion" reminds me of Higurashi's Shion...

Hey, everybody's basically posting near enough the same thing...

I was trying to mull over the long 'o', short 'o' issue, having already seen the name's katakana, when suddenly Roxas and Axel come in and use a different version each. Personally I go with Axel's long 'o' version, but both are actually correct ways of saying 'Shion'.

 

I say it Xion :lolface:

on a serious note, I say it with a capital Z
that way it sounds like the city in the Matrix.
This allows me to think about how awesome the matrix is.

 

I liked it better as Zion. That's how I pronounced it before the game came out. I also called Marluxia Mar-loox-ia. But in ReCoM, they pronounced it Mar-loo-sha. Weird... That's like calling Roxas Ro-sas.

No, not Number One. Number i, as in, 'eye'.

If we're gonna get into the technicalities of other names, too, let's realise that the real name 'Roxas' is more normally spelt 'Rojas' and pronounced 'RO-has', because it's a Spanish name.

 

Depends on how the character's pronounce her name... (nearly everyone says Shion [Pronounced: Shee-on] minus Axel, where he pronounces it not quite like the others...) I get the general feeling though that its pronounced Shion though.
