358/2 Days Xion's appearance

Xion is supposedly a replica created from Sora's memories of Kairi. That's why she has Kairi's eyes, face, and body.

But how did she get black hair?

She isn't an exact copy. She started to form her own identity as Xemnas said, but since she isn't her own person thats why she lost her own face at the end. I think...

She claims those memories as hers, shaping "it" into, "her."
So, in a way, she is her own person.

 

By strongly wanting to be her own person she got what she wanted. Perhaps you could say "she thinks therefore she exists." I wonder if Vexen anticipated it since he must have been the one who originally made that possible. Since people see her as hooded before they get to know her and Xigbar sees her as Ven maybe her black hair came simply from Xion wanting her true form to be unique from Kairi and Namine, even if she only knew that subconsciously. So you could say Xion has black hair because Xion wanted black hair and Vexen left her with the ability to choose (or black was just what he gave her.)

 

Well, I was just going to say that since Xion wasn't perfect in the first place, the black hair might have been an imperfection. I mean, the was MADE to receive Sora's memories in the first place, right? Or am I completely wrong about that?

I don't think that she could really subconsciously choose to have a different hair color in order to be different if she didn't know the two of them (Kairi and Namine) existed in the first place. And after she did, he hair color didn't automatically change.

 

Honestly, the black hair comes from the Devs wanting to set her apart from them...but I think that the "because that's just how Vexen did it" is the best in game answer at the moment.

Considering what BBS showed us, the black hair could be from Sora. Vanitas looks like a black haired, golden eyed Sora and in the end, Sora absorbs Vanitas and Ventus. As Sora grows up, he starts to look like Vanitas, except he keeps his original hair color and blue eyes. Xion could have been affected by that

 

I think that the black hair came from her own memories of her,Axel and Roxas being together,

she is shaped by memories so maybe she can shape herself from her own memories?

 

But she looked like that before she even made memories with them.

Is Vexen really the best answer at this point?

 

But she got memories of the days in the organisation on her own, the first couple of days before she spoke that could of done it....

When did Sora absorb both Vanitas and Ven?

Xion wasn't created to replicate Sora's memories, she was created to replicate Roxas's abilities, and started holding on to Sora's memories as a side effect. That's why she took Kairi's form. Also, she has a different appearance when different people look at her... I don't exactly understand why, though. Riku, Roxas, and Axel all seem to look at her as Kairi.

 

I thought she always had Kairi's form, she didn't just appear that way in the middle of the game.

Yea, I wonder why she looks different to different people. I remember in the game there is a part where whenever you were looking at her while Roxas was talking, she had her hood down, but whenever someone else was talking, her hood was up and you couldn't see her face.

But different people see different faces. When Xigbar looked at her face, he saw Ven.

 

IIRC Namine, Genie, and Pete saw Xion as Xion. Who did Riku see?

 

Riku first saw Xion as Sora, and then later on he saw Xion as Xion

 

I thought he saw her as Kairi first, then Xion.

 

But Xion does look like Kairi. Maybe he was just surprised to see someone who looked like Kairi in the Organization, since he already knew Namine, and no doubt figured she was Kairi's Nobody. Was there anyplace that told what he saw the first time? Because, thinking about it, the look of shock on his face was a little too much for having just seen "Kairi". =/

 

Well no, he saw her as Sora because, I think Xion was made to look like the person that was/is close to them that has some sort of connection to Xion. Like Xigbar, when he was still Braig. He met Ven. Sor and Riku are best friends.

While others saw her as Xion because that's what they expected her to look like or something.

 

Why? If I was him, I'd be pretty shocked to see Kairi in the Organization.
