I can literally think of a dozen historical women who could kick ass five days from Sunday. This man has no idea what the hell he is talkin' about.
Actually he has a point. It's pretty sexist for them to make a Super Smash Brothers and not Super Smash Sisters. Throw in an abundance of women characters, but still name it SSB? Shame on you.
For those less familiar with the series, there are a grand total of eight explicitly female playable characters in the entire Smash Bros series, and one of them hasn't even been confirmed to return in the new one yet, and two of them only count if you consider two forms of the same character as separate entities Compare, 35 explicitly male characters in franchise history
The only one that's really offensive is that last one. The first is kind of funny and the second makes a good point, albeit with bad reasoning. Nintendo is making the female characters too big a deal. What's wrong with treating them like they're no different from male characters?
Has Nintendo? I don't recall them every talking about the fact that they're female, even then, is it really unprecedented? The franchise is looking at a 5:1 total ratio of men to women, so it would make sense to make note of adding more
the only people who make a big deal out of Nintendo adding females to SSB are women. because they're excited. and rightfully so.
Honestly, I think it would be more sexist if they made an entirely separate game for female characters. It's dividing the genders. I'm not like "OMG THEY'RE ADDING MORE FEMALE CHARACTERS TO SSB YESSSSS!!!" but do I think it's cool, sure. // shrugs shoulders // It's honestly never really bothered me that there weren't many female roles to choose from anyway. I always played as Kirby. Plus, chicks can be Bros too. Don't b h8n.
