It was a dark, rainy night, the only light spilling onto the swirling water-haze was from the dim orange glow of the street lamps on the road the alley way lead off of. It had been a exactly a year to the day that he’d passed on and left her. And there she was, standing in the place they’d said their last goodbye all those long months ago. The faint radiance playing across her golden blonde hair and sparkling on the tears that were falling down her cheeks from her brilliantly blue eye. It was hard to believe it had only been one year, one long painful year… Then, the silence was shattered by the ever growing sound of heavy footsteps, thumping on the ground. It was the unmistakable sound of boots. She hastily wiped the tears from her eyes and face as she looked up. Her eyes settling on the approaching figure, her eyes widening in shock at who it was.
“Mon?” He asked, his voice deep and rich spilling over the listener like melted chocolate.
“Oh…my…god…” She gasped, her eyes taking in every inch of the young man. From his long blonde hair down to the bottom of his leather boots.
“Hey.” He smiled, his voice remaining as soft and loving as he watched her.
“Oh my god it’s you!” She cried as she ran towards him, not sure whether or not to believe her own eyes. Wrapping her arms around his body, holding close him so she could see if he was really real and not an illusion.
“Yeah… I guess it is…”He replied, hugging her back. Trying his hardest to hold back tears of his own.
“Oh my god… Oh my god… Oh my god…” Was all Monique could manage to say as she clutched to the material of his shirt, her tears spilling down onto his chest.
“Hey… hey… Stop crying…”He comforted, squeezing her slightly. Resting his head against Monique’s.
“I-I though you were dead…”
“Turns out I’m not…” Mihael whispered softly, stroking her velvety hair. “Hey… Come on, stop crying… I‘m alive right?”
“Yeah… yeah you are… You really are…”
