This Suicide Movie sounded great when they announced it Then they cast Will Smith And now this It's like watching a car crash but you can't look away, but oh lord you need to stop watching, and people are dying, and babies are screaming
I'm sorry. Allow me to fix every single thing about myself you have a problem with. Is that better? I've changed the color :)
Touch screens are hard. I genuinely thought I had hit the color right above it. Please excuse my mistake, I was in a rush to get to work, ahaha. How's that?
At first when I read they had cast them, I thought the author of the article had accidently written Eisinberg instead of Heisenberg. Then I realized that the casting crew must have accidently asked for Jesse instead of Bryan Cranstan because HOW COULD YOU SHAVE JESSE'S BEAUTIFUL HAIR. I probably won't even go any more DC movies. Hope was lost after Christopher Nolan left the director's seat.
Hey guys remember when Kotaku posted this image in a front page article two days after this thread.... Remember how the world greeted Heath. Then remember that it's the delivery that is important when it comes to this character.
Difference is, I never disliked Heath's Joker visually, and it boggles my mind how anyone did. Also, I can honestly say that a comic book character's visuals are just as important to me as their character. Luckily, I've never seen a disconnect in pleasing visual design and good character portrayal yet.
put yourself in the mindset of 2008 when the only jokers who had been on screen looked like bleached dapper gentlemen (I can think of maybe 1 that wasn't this and it was in a cartoon nobody watched). nolan's joker was the first on screen to deviate from that, and as with anything (including this new joker), different scares people and gives something to criticize to those eager to hate.
I do remember that: I saw the film at its release (technically before a lot of you guys since I was in Australia at that time and it released there a little earlier.) I get that people aren't used to different things, but to me Ledger's Joker always captured the spirit of the character in his look (and obviously performance) even if they weren't traditional. Leto's Joker, on the other hand, at least at a visual level...well, I've already voiced my dislike.
