Hahaha, oh wow. If it's a Sony product, they kinda have the right to make you pay for your damn games, and paying for them kinda help support the good folks who made it.

I'm not saying pirating games isn't a super-duper evil thing (heck, I have like 10 pirated games on my computer), just don't bitch about it when you have to actually pay for games.

I guess people don't read threads anymore. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PIRATE PS3 GAMES WITH GEOHOT'S HACK.

I'll give you that one. People who are hacking shouldn't be messing with PSN and Sony has the right to ban/brick people who are. People who have hacked consoles and don't mess with PSN, however, is a completely different story.

Not sure if it doesn't apply there, but in general, it's only illegal to share your hack.
For example, altering a script to make it null or hacking a software for personal use is allowed. If you share it, you're doing something illegal.

Don't forget that guys like him create the linux you're using. That's why it's so much better than Microsoft Windows.

It would be nice to see some other video gaming company to hire this guy as a coder.

    YYYYYEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT.
Look, what's done is done. The guy has had Sony come and ***** slap him for fucking with their stuff (Which he did, knowingly). Big fucking whoop. If you're gonna make a big *****fit about it, go do it to Sony, not us.

If you have a problem with it, it's simple. Don't buy Sony products. Go buy an XBox and pay for your online gaming on top of the console AND game. If you want to hack a console, don't release the code onto the internet and not expect the consoles producers to come down on you HARD.

tl'dr; you're wrong, we're right. Deal with it.

Also, just so you know, hacking a console or a phone REALLY, doesn't do much. I had a hacked psp for two years. All I ended up doing was eating through my downloads getting all these new things for it. It's made no difference to me now that I've updated and lost the hack.

I assure you, you were doing it wrong. Without CFW, I'd sell my PSP. Even without piracy, the benefits of CFW are just too great to pass up. Manga, better video support, IR support, homebrew, full browser potential, booting games from memory sticks, playing PSX games, custom themes, the extra brightness setting, plugins, screenshots, cheats, your own music in-game, etc.

Download and copy to memory stick?
I don't know about you, but my PSP is for games. My computer is for movies.
I assume that by IR you mean infrared (sp?), something I've never known existed on a PSP, and as such have gotten on with, quite fine.
    Those games suck.
Again, my computer is for that.
I only play games I actually own, as a way to support game developers/companys
I have a PS2 for that, and as such could download the PSX games I play from PSN
    Purely aesthetical
    Superfluous
    ... For what, exactly?
    Again, for what?
    The point in playing?
    MP3/iProduct/Phone/Stereo/Other music playing device.

Don't be ridiculous, who are you to say who is wrong and who is right? You like to be safe and do things the way they are made to be done, others like to do more than that like me, for example. My PSX, PS2 and PSP are all modded, and the 100 that I spent for it was worth it. I kept on buying games, though. Until the prices were blown up in the sky.

    inorite?

How am I being ridiculous? Also, there is no risk of being permabanned from the PSN on anything before the PSP, so yay for chipping a PS2. /sarcasm

Has anyone actually realised that by breaking Sony's coding and the such inside the PS3, this guy as technically vandalised property belonging to one of the biggest Gaming/Home entertainment companys in the world? He's (and everyone that uses his mod/hack/WHAT-EVER-THE-****-YOU-WANT-TO-CALL-IT) taken a massive dump on Sony's metaphorical front lawn? Personally, I wouldn't be too keen to jump on THAT bandwagon.

You are being ridiculous just because you are trying to find out who is wrong and who is right. Or even worse: To prove that you are right, and the others who have different opinions that are not the same with yours are wrong. That's ridiculous to say the least.

And please don't say stuff like that to the outside world, people will make fun of you. lol

Now wipe the floor, there's some saliva in there.

The picture viewer on the PSP is pitifully inferior to the specifically designed homebrew readers designed for reading manga and comics. With the right setup, you can read manga easily.

PSP is for movies on the go. I know a lot of people who use it for videos, especially anime.

Exists on the PSP 1000. It means the PSP can be used as a TV remote. It's impressive, because the feature got absolutely no use from Sony, and has only ever been used by CFW. In other words, you need CFW to make the most out of your hardware.

Who said anything about games? Ebook reader. Manga reader. Emulators. The occasional -good- games. Wireless file transfers between PSPs.

A desktop isn't exactly practical to use while in bed.

Rip your own games (can do easily). Put them on the memory stick. Enjoy your multiple games with you at once, without any of those UMDs. The better battery life and improved loading times are also a plus.

Your PS2 can't play on the go. Downloading the PSX games costs money, and doesn't supply you with all possible games. So if you have an obscure game from your childhood, you can't play it, or you need to rebuy it. If you have CFW, you can rip the game yourself, and play it.

So? It looks nice, and Sony doesn't let you do it. Both good reasons to me.

Not really. It's available if you charge your PSP normally, but not if you take it off the charger. It gives you the option of using it.

Remapping the analog stick if it's faulty, for example. Taking screnshots. Cheats. Added functions, such as the popular one Hold+, which removes the risk of turning off the PSP when taking it off hold. Also, it underclocks the PSP and turns the brightness off and the like when put on hold, so as to conserve battery life when listening to music. It also makes it faster to scroll through lists of music. That's just one plugin though. There are others too, such as Remotejoy, which allows you to play with the computer as a screen.

Funny scenario in-game? Want to take a picture of your achievements? How about capturing media for this site? All impossible without homebrew.

Ask the Code Vault. Fun tricks and different settings. That sort of thing. It's not always to cheat your way through a game. (Although it can be, and it's an option CFW gives you.)

Cancels out the sound effects of the game, which isn't good. Also, why add in something else when you don't have to?

Pretty sure there's an application for comics on PSPs now. I've never used it but I do know it's there.

    Laptops are pretty cool though.
