Would you watch/buy a KH movie? (Think FF:Advent Children)

I searched and did not find an existing thread about this, but if there is one then someone please redirect me.

But, the question stands, if Tetsuya was to come up with a movie similar to the style of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, but set in the KH universe, would you be interested? I realize this more or less boils down to the whole video games into movies debate, but with all of us being fans of the KH series, it does strike a more personal note.

Hmmm i wouldnt mind.
Although I did enjoyed Advent children, but I wished it would be a game the story was kinda rushed in the movie.

 

It could be great, but I'd probably watch it anyway, even if it wasn't.

Yep and in a sense a lot of people will be buying it soon (Days in the HD Remix). Other than lacking the fancy graphics and a new plotline like Advent Children, I'd say it definitely counts as a movie.

 

YES I WOULD!! a KH movie would be so awesome. i mean what in KH aside from battling? cut scenes/movies. and personally i could sit down with a big bag of chips and a 6 pack of budlight and just watch all the cutscenes from the KH games, then again i guess soon ill have to with days being in kh1.5 remix :). i heard its roughly 3 hours, so thats what ill have to do. but aside from all that, yes i would love to see one, even if its just a side story or something like that, i love the KH lore, i wanna learn everything :)

 

No. Days is not a movie. Nearly every cutscene is Axel Roxas and Xion on the clock tower. MOST of the story is represented through lengthy pieces of text that appear in the middle. There's no flow, it's like watching theatre mode of a KH game and calling it a movie. It's just really not.

 

I would say yes only if they actually do a good job with lip syncing. It would sell well to the mass of Kingdom Hearts fans but it is kind of hard to imagine a KH based movie.

 

Only if it's actually good. Fanbases aren't generally as blind as mainstream audiences. If something is bad they will vehemently hate it and it will become the subject of ridicule for years to come, it won't automatically sell well just by being KH.

 

Being good or bad I would watch it (Hell I watched Dragon Ball Evolution).
But I want it to be done? Even thinking it might be interesting (and would give a chance for non KH players to see what the fuss is about) , I strongely think they should be foucusing at KH III right now, even the HD remixes got me mixed feelings (joke implied), at one hand I really do want to play all these games, at the other I think they're only delaying KH III.

 

I think it would be great for them to do that, as long as they do it after KH 3 or Reconnect or whatever they decided to call it. A spin-off with character creation would be nice too at some point.

But I understand your doubts about a movie with Disney Characters, that could be..."naif"? If they will make a movie with the graphics of the KHII HQ cutscenes, it would be awesome!

 

I don't want it to be made but if it is I guess I'd watch it.

Short answer: yes. As long as it isn't as.....real.....as Advent Children was.

I mean the graphics of the movie. Like instead of looking how it does in the opening and ending scenes, to make it look like in-game cutscenes like how Days looked in 1.5. I dnt know if it's just me but I wouldn't be able to watch an entire movie about Kingdom Hearts like that. It worked well for Advent Children but for Kingdom Hearts, to me at least, the characters a better portrayed with the in-game graphics.
