Would you be offended if...

if you auditioned for a movie or something and you were cast as an evil person like the Devil or Hitler. would you be offended because the caster thought you were fit for that part or happy because you got such a lead?

 

It really wouldn't bother me, if you are serious about acting then you would embrace the role and make it your own.

I say this mainly because I performed in a play called Epsom Downs once and I got cast as an old perverted drunk man :v it was actually a lot of fun.

Besides, it is a good opportunity, and playing the villain can be heaps of fun.

 

I'd be happy I got such a lead. I don't see any reason so be offended by that. I mean, it's still a part. And as Mother Nature said, it's a lot of fun being the bad guy. I've been casted as a "villan" as well. ​

 

I'd be somewhat honored to be given such a major role. Course, this is without saying I dislike the actual person, but acting in that person's character might be enjoyable.

 

To be given the role of a big villain means that they must've thought your acting ability was pretty great... So no, I wouldn't be offended, even if that wasn't exactly the part I was hoping for. The villain can often be even more complex and hard to portray than the 'hero' character.

Because as an actor that's your job to portray that character.

A lot of actors have certain types of characters they are excellent at playing, like me, i'm best at a comical villain type.

That's a very silly question, m'dear.

 

No it wouldn't bother me because I know that it's just acting. Besides, playing the role of an antagonist would be fun because of the possible character development involved in playing that role.

 

I don't really see as why I'd take this as an offense. I'd be honored to have a major role such as this. But, seeing as how I have major stage fright and I'm terrible at acting, it won't happen.​

Like to have such a big role would be great too, but to do the evil laugh will be better, but still to have such a big part which can be extremely creative seeing as the evil person can backstab or use people or whatever... it would be an honour. (coz I can't act)​

 

What all the other guys said. I've done a bit of acting and I usually end up as supporting comedic pantomine relief or the slightly camp, bumbling villain. I was told I 'Wouldn't need to act'.

 

I Don't think I would. It s for a movie. That alone helps me to calm down, you get me?

 

I'd be thrilled to play a bad guy, although I'd be doubting myself all of the time <.< But if the casters actually thought I'd make a good evil character, I'd take the chance immediately.
I'd like that better than being type-casted as a sweet, innocent pushover (happened too often to me T_T)​

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Most actors at the beginning of their careers would be thrilled to get even one line in a movie, not to mention THE PART OF THE MAIN ANTAGONIST! And if you think that that's the worst way a director can hurt you, you'd be in for a big surprise if you ever made it in to the acting business.​

 

I would be honored. I remember being casted as a hooker in some play ^_^
I think it was either little women or pretty woman but it was the main character and I was honored and so should everyone else even if it's Adolf Hitler.

Well every movie needs a bad guy so no I wouldn't be offended.

 

I would be happy to a part in anything. It's not like you act like the person in real life.

 

I wouldn't mind it at all. It would be an acting experience and it can be fun to play the evil people, even some that are really notorious. I'd make the character as bad ass as I could because that person is feared for a reason and I'd want to portray that vibe. Being the main antagonist would be as awesome to me as being the main protagonist. *thumbs up*

 

I wouldn't be offended at all. Infact I try to go for the villain when I try out for plays and whatnot.
