Well everybody knows this is coming sooner or later. Russia not allowing the US to set up missile defense systems in Russia. Russia claiming the North Pole for themselves. China was mad at the US for giving the Dali Lama a medal for his help in Tibet. Vladimir Putin, Russian President saying he will not relinquish his power after the next election. Putin and Ahmadinejad seem to get along fine. And Russia just seems to keep slipping back into Communism. With all these events and for sure more to come it is almost inevitable that there will be a World War three.

I'm sure North Korea will find its way into that mess. But as far as history repeating itself, I feel that there will probably be much more talk this time around. No one is willing to screw up everything for themselves in the long run.

And yes I agree North Korea would probably be involved. But for some odd reason I feel like they would want to side with the US. I'm just weird like that though. And I also agree that it will probably involve more talking. This time around not just one side would have the atomic weapons. That factor will make every nation more careful. And I might be wrong. It could just be Cold War two.

No matter what causes it, World War 3 is inevitable, rising tension exists in almsot every country for one reason or another. What the catalyst will be, who knows?

Though I do agree, that the problems with Russia are going to be the most likely cause of something big. A while ago (I can't find the article) Russian planes had to be escorted out of British airspace because they posed a possible threat.

I also think that yes, there will be more talk, as nobody wants a repeat of the past, added to the fact that a lot of people have already lost so much through the war in Iraq.

However, talking can only get us so far, in the end, we are just putting off the inevitable. There WILL be World War 3, it is just a case of when.

"I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein

So pray that something this stupid will newer happen. The current destructive power of weaponry is ready to level countries.

The thing that's making me nervous is all of the stuff that's happening in Iraq.
I just hope WW3 doesn't happen any time soon...

its enevitable, humans always need to be better that each other... something like this will happen, and then humanity itself will be on the brink of insanity and despair....

Thats making me nervous too. Iraq is unstable.

I heard that Al Qaeda is trying to bomb shopping malls around Christmas, but I really dont know what to think of there.
I agree with everything about Russia, and North Korea will get involved with everything somehow.

The thing that worries me is the weapons that might be used if or when there is a WW3. Nuclear weapons that could wipe out more than just cities...Poki#3 is right about the weapon's destruction level.

That's right. But my theory is that the Skin heads of German/Poland will start it.Skin heads are Hitlers supporters that beat up people of other races and colours. If they see a black person walk down the road it angers them. They'll start off like hitler small at first but then eventually they get the government behind them and start the rein of Nazism again but i still think they won't succedd.Europe and america could destroy them no problem.

We don't know if the worst world leaders have yet come or they are bound to come in a few years...
But even now with Bush you can't be sure if he starts a war with your country, and as a sequence more countries will get a affected by it. And as a result the opposing countries of the countries that are directly into the war will take battle positions, and then the final part of the war will happen. All the countries will be opposed to everything one says, the european union will break for the x or y reason, and if we're not destroyed in some years time from this war we are starting all over again from the beginning, trying to prove Einstein's and Aristoteles' theories and formulas again.

That Einstein quote seems like it'll be true. I just hope WWIII doesn't come during our time here on Earth.

I have a bad feeling that if war breaks out, Canada's gonna somehow gets it's *** dragged into it (Uranium mines in Elliot Lake and whatnot). But, like White_Rook said, there may be more debate put into this than war. I'm sure another world war is the furthest thing from what the political leaders have in mind.

World War 3 is coming, as CtR said, it is just a matter of when. Tensions have been building in the background from teh last WW, the visible signs being the Cold War. But the tensions are still there, whether we see them or not.

But most world leaders are intelligent enough to see that another World War would not help, the world economy is in enough trouble as it is (US housing market/mortgage troub le specifically).

Also, the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) principle is still recognised globally (for those who don't know it means we fire our nukes, they fire their nukes and everybody loses).

My main fear, and probably the fear of many leaders, is the actions of independant groups within their nations. World War I was sparked off by a group of dissident students who shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand dead. The actions of such a small grouo of people paralyzed a continent and set the world back many years. They even indirectly caused World War II to happen (as the after-effects of WWI allowed Hitler to rise to power).

Well who do you think will side with who or do you think it'll be every nation for itself?

WW3 will not be about sides, it will be about how concentrated your population is. Nukes will be used extensively (whether intentionally to begin with or accidently). It will be short but catastrophic. The human population will be decimated and the land badly wounded.

That is very true. I could see India also playing a big role here. And well With their high populations it would be terrible. I know people say China and India are gonna be the next super powers. I don't care if they're gonna be super powers, people can't survive an atomic bomb's wrath. And with their huge populations casualties would be in the millions.

Actually, you'd be surprised by the fact that certain political leaders, while low in number, can definitely drag us into a war.

Take world war 2 for instance... the PRESIDENT (FDR at the time) halted trade from Japan to the US, aided Japan's enemies in the midst of the war (which is violating international war rules), and as for the bombing of pearl harbor... not only was it known weeks in advance, but it was spotted on radar that Japanese U-boats were closing in on the US... and what happened? Roosevelt ignored it. lol Plus his ties to the people behind the curtain was another thing that drove him to do so, as that would mean benefits reaped for the bankers--who made 200 million dollars off of the war. Which is over 2 billion by today's standards.

But anyway, yeah... saying war is the furthest thing from the political leaders' minds is very untrue. In fact, one of the most beneficial aspects of war is the fact it causes more people to borrow money from the banks at interest, which is exactly what the masters want... as it causes inflation to increase, thus making people pay more money for taxes( since they have more money being distributed), giving the bankers WAAAAAY high amounts of money as a result. xD

When you look at the causes of the other world wars, I wouldn't be so sure it's even going to be any of the things you mention.
WWI was caused by tension throughout Europe, and the catalyst was the assasination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand (the second i believe?)
WWII was caused by the ****y manner in which WWI was wrapped up, leaving Germany angry, broke and humiliated.

So WWIII? It's a small miracle that our invasion of Iraq hasn't ended up causing WWIII...
