    WORLD WAR 3,
    as seen through the eyes of R3c0Nzi13
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    France
    July 17th, 2556:
    War has broken out. Portugal and France have gone to war, slowly wiping each other out in a nuclear exchange to set the world into battle.
    The French Militaire has called for assistance from neighboring countries, and the call has been answered by the British and American military force, the British providing air and naval support, the Americans providing land and air support. American bombs are dropped on Portugal and British ships bombard the shores of France in an attempt to end the fighting before it spreads.
    But it is already too late...
    Russia
    July 19th, 2556:
    Russian forces battle against North and South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Sweden. Germany has combined its power with Russia to help ward off the encroaching countries, while requesting permission from America to take control of the ISS to destroy any satellites the Swedish, Japanese, Italian, or Korean people may have in orbit, thus shutting down almost all forms of communication.
    The fighting spreads to Moscow, the heart of the Motherland, where it reaches its climax. Russian forces gain authorization to carpet-bomb Moscow, and the air force, in one fatal run, razes the entire city to the ground.
    America, The White House
    July 22nd, 2556:
    The President of the United States negotiates with the European Union to try and combine all their military forces into one joint strike force. Britain quickly complies, eager to end the war. Those from France and other countries, however, are reluctant to comply, and just as the President is about to continue, another call reaches him...
    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
    July 22nd, 2556:
    Rio de Janeiro is invaded by the Swedish Armén, who plan to assault America. The Brazilian Ejército is quick to react and sends in an aerial assault as a warning, but are shot down by Swedish anti-air assault guns, causing Rio de Janeiro to light its own flames of war. The Brazilian leader requests help from American and Spanish forces, of which America replies first, but with very little to offer, the bulk of their forces occupied in France. Spanish Soldados swarm into Brazil, and all hell breaks loose as the Swedish naval forces begin to bombard the Brazilian shores. Air assault from America sinks many Swedish ships, but when British naval support comes in, Swedish submarines appear and sink the ships, while the triple-A guns onshore blow American planes out of the sky.
    A lone Brazilian sniper takes aim at the controller of the Swedish Anti-Air gun, then fires. Though he hits, he is spotted and killed on the spot by an entire platoon of Swedish forces.
    The war rages on for many years, until...
    Stockholm, Sweden
    January 23rd, 2559:
    American Marines and British Special Operators are parachutes into Stockholm by way of HALO(High Altitude, Low Opening)jump. The General of the Swedish military is asleep in his home, and the mission given to the Marines is to kill him, while the British Special Ops. are tasked with disabling any and all communications still active. Remnants of the Portuguese militar have been stationed throughout the headquarters of the Swedish military, while the General is guarded by a single regiment of Swedish soldiers. American Navy SEALS have been deployed to silently take out the squad, leaving any remainders to be picked off by the Marines. One SEAL is lost in a small fight, but the rest of the team gets away when the Marines open fire on the three Swedish soldiers.
    The British Special Ops. team, meanwhile, has infiltrated the military headquarters and proceeds to shut down all communications, cutting off the military from the government, leaving their fates in the hands of the rest of the world, which, after the nuclear exchange in France and Portugal, consists of two countries less than what it was made up of.
    A hostage is taken by the British Special Ops. to be questioned, while the American Marines infiltrate the General's home and kill him while he sleeps. Without their General, the Swedish military will become useless.
    The SEALS, Marines, and Special Operators are extracted from Sweden, and slowly, the war begins to end.
    Berlin, Germany
    January 25th, 2559:
    Germany is the first of many countries to see the end of the war. Korean and Swedish forces surrender, many placed into custody and executed.
    Remains of Moscow, Russia
    January 25th, 2559:
    the Russian people begin to rebuild their great city as the Japanese and Italian forces who haven't surrendered are killed off. Russian people wonder what the fate of the Motherland will be if another war like this is to break out.
    Remains of France
    January 25th, 2559:
    French and Portuguese survivors hear the news that the war is over and that the allied forces have won, much to the dismay of Portugal. The French survivors rejoice that they have lived through hell once again. Portuguese survivors surrender themselves to the French Militaire and are promptly executed.
    America, The White House
    January 27th, 2559:
    All people present in the White House let out a collective sigh of relief as the news is heard that the war is over and that they have, again, helped to bring about victory for themselves and their allies. The President silently thanks whatever god humanity believes in for not killing him before the war was over, and more so that it didn't spread to America as was planned.
    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
    January 29th, 2559:
    The Brazilian people have began the process of forgiving and forgetting, but it will be hard to mend the broken ties with those who attacked them. Rebuilding is starting, and is aided by American volunteers who have not yet been extracted from Brazil.
    The war has ended, and the world can once again live in peace, but for how long is a question nobody can answer, and don't wish to think about. As ties are slowly mended, the world makes a silent vow to never again try and dominate each other, for another war like this would bring about the end of humanity. Something nobody wanted, no matter how badly they wanted to rule.
    Okay, yeah, I know it's a touchy subject, but I just had to write about it. I don't expect any good critiques, but I don't think I'd want to see anything to the effect of "This sucks, you suck, go burn in hell, you freak", because I never read that stuff anyhow, and normally just report it so whoever's doing it will shut up.
    Hopefully, people will enjoy this, if not, well, that's not a problem of my requirement. I'm usually busy with other stuff, so if you want to leave a comment, try popping me a PM if you can. I tend to answer those more.
    Far too truncated to depict what's happening and I do believe that your time line is screwed up. If nuclear weapons are involved it's going to escalate quickly and end in hours not years. You have people attacking their own allies at some points which means you have some continuity issues or something. The treatment of defeated forces is brutal and far below even today's standards. The realism of this is incredibly low; the probability me winning the lottery eighteen times is higher than this happening. So I thought it was an interesting read, it just showed a clear lack of any research or care for even slight reality.
    I actually saw this one coming. I know what you're talking about, I have this really bad habit of not thinking before acting, and I wasn't thinking when I wrote this, but when I realized what I did, it was too late to take it back. Yeah, I know, research and thought weren't put into this, and this normally doesn't occur when I'm writing stuff. This is just one of those things where I completely screw it all up, and I apologize for that, and take full responsibility for my own actions.
    But hey, at least you found it interesting. If nothing else, I was certainly shooting for interesting.
    Well, you've got the basic idea down, Emmet, but what I think you did wrong was, one: you weren't thinking or studying the subject in and out completely, and two: You didn't know how to put it into writing. If a nuclear exchange did happen, contrary to what Jiku Neon says, it would take a few years for it all to finally end, because one, the governments wouldn't just bomb everything they saw. They neither have the weapons enough nor the insanity to do something that drastic. After a few trade-offs, then they'd stop the nuclear exchange and revert back to normal warfare; we have more men and weapons for that, whereas we only have so many nuclear weapons.
    So yeah, basic idea's pretty well made, but you didn't know how to write it correctly, and you didn't think it all the way through and research it before you started writing. Better luck next time, Emmet.
