Within Temptation

I'm just curious, but has anyone ever heard of that artist? I tend to believe she sings very well. I like the pitch of her voice - it matches well with the music in the background. If you've heard her songs, tell me what you think!

 

Within Temptation are one of my favourite groups, Sharon Den Adel has one of the most beautiful voices for this genre of music. I find their music both powerful and inspiring.


The Silent Force is probably my favourite album by them though their newest The Heart of Everything is definitely high up on my list too. ^^


Within Temptation are a group that everyone should listen to at least once, IMO even if you do not normally like that sort of thing ^^


I disagree with the critics saying they are Evanescence with a different name, I personally find the 2 very very different.​

 

Within Temptation reminds me of Evanesence too much, lol. But I love thier songs, especially 'Stand My Ground'

 

I like alot of Within Temptation's songs. I can relate a lot of them to kingdom hearts and other video games and movies. I really like the song memories

 

Ill go look up some of their songs on youtube. They sound good.

 

Me too , I just LOVE her music , it's my second favorite to Evanescence . I listen to Within Temptations like everyday !!!

 

They do really remind of them.


But well I like their music, it's something I listen to at times.

I have heard of them, my best friend keeps telling me I should listen to them. ^^;
They sound soo good thanks to you guys. Nobody can really BELT IT like Amy Lee, tho. But nobody can match the type of genre Evanesance is, although Within Temptations sounds relatively close.

From what I've read the lead singer is most of the band?

Is there any serious guitar or drum movements? I'm such a drum fanatic. :3

I can't stand the lame, plain music of the new preppy people. Like, with no actual guitar or base or drums to be seen or heard of.

 

Style-wise, Within Temptation and Evanescence aren't as similar as many people probably think they are. The thing that probably seduces them to think that is because it's undeniable that there is an uncanny resemblance between the tonal quality of Sharon Den Adel and Amy Lee.

If I were to pick though, Sharon > Amy, simply because I feel Sharon bring a lot more to her lyrics, whereas Amy almost turns her melodies into mainstream mediocrity. I must say, oftentimes, by the time you're 3/4 into the song of one of Evanescence songs, you just wanna kill yourself because it gets utterly repetitive, with hardly any change. I dont know how many times Amy Lee has to say "Going Under" before she actually goes and does so.

 

I <3 <3 <3 Within Temptation. They have to be one of my absolute favorite bands out right now and I am disappointed that I may not get to see them in concert because I don't think they have any shows coming out this way. I know they are in the states now for tours.

I do really wish though that people would stop forcing some weird artist vs. artist war with Evanescence and Within Temptation. The music is similar in a goth way, but seriously, they aren't out for competing with one another so why people have to do that, I just don't get it. I like both groups and am actually glad to hear -more- groups coming out with unique sounds instead of the old crap. The music has depth and imagination for both groups and it's nice to also hear more female singers of rock/metal/goth sorts of music. Appreciate the differences.

Amy Lee was all about death in her first CD. I don't know anything from the second except "Call Me When You're Sober" which is really improved over her old stuff.

Seriously. You just wanna cut yourself when you hear her old stuff. It's all about dying and being betrayed and uah.

 

I've heard of them and I like a few songs. 'Stand my Ground' and 'What have you done'. But beyond that I can't seem to get into them all that much. =/
