Winter time

Riley stumbled a little and then kept walking. When they were out of earshot, she thought it was safe to talk. "That was... slightly awkward..." She stepped off the curb and walked along the cross walk. There were no cars heading their way.

 

OOC: BACK!!!

BIC: Mia started awake. She must have fallen asleep. Not the smartest thing to do fight now. She sighed and looked up. It was almost dark. Her parents weren't home yet. Well whatever then. she got up, stretched, then started walking. Time to explore this town.

 

Cale saw several people crossing the street, she wondered if she should approach them.

 

Riley grinned. "Just a little itty, bit." She stuck her hands in her pocket to try to keep them warm as she entered the neighborhood.

 

Mia walked across the street, her hands jammed in her pocket. She vaguely wondered if there was an ice rink around. It had been so long since she last skated.....She saw some other people walking home, but she ignored them. What was the point of making friends?

 

Riley continued walking, looking at some of the Christmas lights on the houses. She couldn't help but to keep smiling. They were so pretty. "Three more houses to go, and we'll be there shortly."

 

Mia tried to not notice the people walking on the other side of the street. She used to be like them, but once people saw her now...they turned and walked the other way. She did try to ignore them, but then she slipped and fell. Nice one, Mia she slowly got back up. Way to notice it's finally winter out.

 

Brad started to walk home. It wasnt far but thought he should ditch the sweatshirt when he got closer to home. He walked a little faster catching sight of someone from the corner of his eye.

 

Mia struggled to her feet, cursing under her breath. Why had she ever agreed to move somewhere cold? She slipped again, starting another whole string of curses. Good thing her jacket was loose, no one could tell yet.

 

Riley felt Holden slowing down. She stopped and turned, then followed his gaze. She saw a girl, not to far away from them. "Hm... let's go help her." She changed her course and started heading towards the girl.

BIC: Mia looked up, and half smiled. "Thanks." she took his hand, pulling herself up. "I, um....have balance issues." She was grateful again her jacket was so loose.

 

"Well," she laughed, then sighed. "At least I won't have them for too much longer." Mia looked down. "Thanks for helping me, though," she added. "My name is Mia."

 

Brad was finally home and just left his sweatshirt in the garbage can outside.
"im home"
no one was there. hmmm he must have gone out. whatever. He crawled up the ladder to the attic where his room was, watching the stars from his skylight. what an odd night he thought.... before falling into a restless sleep.
