    Last time i tried to download and install this my comp ended up crashing, all i want to know is if they have updated it in the past about 3-4 months.

    They update windows once in a while, service pack 3 is just a whole pack with the latest and major updates.

    If it makes you feel better, I have SP3 installed right now on my laptop. Hasn't had any problems, so I guess it's safe to say they've fixed whatever was initially causing the crashes (something a lot of users complained about).

    So yeah, it should be safe to install now.
