We pretty much know that Nintendo isn't exactly "with the times." And when they try to break into territory already mastered my Sony and Microsoft, they pretty much screw it up. Like Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. They decided to ensure safety by adding friend codes, now causing complete strangers to exchange them over the internet. Now we have the wonderful WiiSpeak. It's a microphone that goes over your sensor bar. And why would it go over the bar instead of over your head? Because it's a "community microphone." And what exactly does that mean? Well, it means everybody can hear what the person on the other side is saying, but it also means everybody in the immediate area can join in the conversation. I don't understand why they just can't make a regular mic. I love Nintendo, but they come late into the game and then they try making it their own and it ends up being worse. Hopefully some 3rd periphrial companies will see their chance and make some personal headsets instead.
Mario Kart. Call of Duty Brawl. I wanted there to be some time of a headset for these games. ...Animal Crossing...are you kidding me? Will i buy this game: no. Nintendo should have had a headset come out when they released the DS headset.
I know exsactly what you are sayen. I read an article on it (I think we were readen the same thing), and a lot of the stuff they are coming out with is pretty bad. All these improvements are not only unnescesary, but also they are rather uncared for. They be comens out with some sort of a WiiMusic thing or something like that which I hear is horrible. WiiFit. WiiResort (or somethen like that). As for new games that aren't Wii, they are doing pretty horrible with them as well. Nothing new, nothing exciting. Just plain nothing. Animal crossing is even a poor extension of the last one. Nintendo is just doin really poorly right now
That's where you're wrong. Nitnedo is doing great. Sales are steadily rising. They have nothing to worry about. They have great marketing techniques too. But their implementation is where they go wrong. They have alot of work to do if they are ever planning on fixing it (which they won't.)
In a way, yes. All they do really is regurgitate games, which people complain about over and over again. I think, in order for Nintnedo to regain it's former glory is to create new titles. It's a one-note company, and if they make new titles, they can prove that it can be much more than Mario and Zelda. Pikmin was a start, but if they keep at it, they can really topple their opponents.
I just hope the assload of money nintendo is making this gen will mean that they will be adventurous and entertain us like S-E did recently with TWEWY. I miss the adventurous nintendo D:
the fact that it's over the sensor bar doesn't seem THAT bad to me. it could change from person to person tho, and it would probaly catch quite a bit of outside/unintended noise to reach. but it's not anything really bad. tho i wouldn't buy one, i honestly don't want to get to know players i met on the Internet.
Actually, I love Animal Crossing. I plan on getting it. The Wii-speak thing about the whole room being privy to your conversations irritates me, so chances are I will pick up a third party one. Oh, and Nintendo are not ignorant. I am not kind enough to label them as that. The fact is they simply don't care. Nintendo are now a company for the casuals. Sad, but true. The signs are all there. The name "Wii" over "Revolution". The motion sensing. The onslaught of Cooking mama type games. The not-game games. The lack of care about competative play. The implanting of tripping in Brawl. The friend code system. Now Wii-speak. I am sorry, especially for myself. Nintendo no longer cares about the competatives. Hell, they no longer care about their past fans. I feel that a VG cats comic sums up my feelings. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=269
