My brother is thinking of buying a Wii, although it's actually mine. He promised that if I got all A's he would buy me one. I got the A's and he's in the situation of finding a store to buy it.

Problem is that, we check most of the common stores and they have nothing in stock.

So do you guys know where we can still buy it?

Wii has had stock problems since launch, it shouldn't surprise you in the slightest being unable to find one.

If you absolutely can't wait to get a Wii from a store, you could try your luck at getting a deal through eBay or classifieds. Sometimes you can find a good deal through these mediums.

This was a big problem for me too, I feel ya' man.

Well what I did was go to gamestop's site and find the nintendo wii selection. I then used the "Find a store with it in stock" button lawl. It helped a tiny bit. Then sometimes I gave a few stores a call and asked when they'll get it.

Actually, there's more wiis than the launch. I actually went to my local gamestop a few days ago and saw about 6-8 wii's on the shelf =\

So just go look for 'em. eBay and Criagslist are last options because the bids are almost to always high.

    ohhhh, I see

I actually have a gamestop right by my house, so I'll try and check if they still have it in stock

    Anyways,
about the news about Wii having very, very few or no stocks at all this Christmas season, is that true?

It was said many months back that there would be a shortage of Wiis this holiday season. Many of us Smash Bros enthusiasts made jokes about this in the Brawl thread (when Brawl's release date was still December 3rd) saying how all of us would be ready for Brawl the moment it came out whereas 'the slackers' would be crap out of luck.

Of course that statement is now sort of false, but it's already been stated a looooong time ago that there would be Wii shortages over the holidays.

Atm, it's still in the shine. But I'm sure very soon, since holidays are coming up, it'll run out quick.

I suggest to get it ASAP lawl.

And are you planning to get it manually from a store, or does online orders work for you?

Since it's under my brother's and dad's cash, they just agreed to but it directly at a store, but since they're having a hard time, they are tying to do a pre-order

We've tried Fry's electronics though, and it ran out quick.

Ah. Well I heard that Best Buy will have loads on 12/2. I'm not sure though. And wal-mart probably has a few. My friend got one from them recently.

    Stores you should check out:
    Best Buy
    Gamestop/EBGames
    Target
    Wal-Mart
Nintendo World (Leik they'll ever have any)

When I was on my quest on getting the wii, the first link that I'd always visit was amazon's customer discussion...

Hmmm...let's see what I've checked so far

    Stores you should check out:
Best Buy: We did, and nothing, but I'll see what you're saying on 12/2
Gamestop/EBGames: we'll try this weekend or maybe tomorrow
Target: We did, all of it was games and accesories
Wal-Mart: They do, they have a bundle, but for 600 bucks XP
Nintendo World: No nintendo world here

Perhaps they thought most people would go spend time with families instead of purchasing video games.

    ...

On-topic: I'd prolly just give the stores a call first if they actually have any Wii's in stock. Just saves you the trouble of driving around.

Yeah, what people listed are pretty good stores to find them. I see them here in Walmarts, Sam's Clubs, EB, Kmart, Target and places like that. They seem easier to find at these places than some places that are dedicated to just general electronics like Best Buy.

Also, I'd suggest not buying one off Ebay. Some people sell things that electronically have some malfunction or they've abused the console in some way. It's better just to look around where you are at to know what you are getting when it comes to these things. I know I've ordered electronic stuff off Ebay and sometimes it is just something I have to sit and repair, which sucks. Also, you have to hope they pack it well, and some people don't know how to send things right through mail. It's better to just check it out and see the item first hand even if you might be out of stock. You'll get one sooner or later.

dont buy off ebay - you could spend like $300 on it and get one broken
