I honestly hope they scrap the Wii U. The fact that it is associated with the Wii will turn off a lot of gamers, because we all know the Wii was pretty lackluster in 'core' games. They should just make a whole new console and end the Wii's chapter.
I still won't get it. It seems like such a huge waste of time and money for Nintendo trying to keep up with everyone. I mean, the 3DS was and is fine, but apparently they felt the need to make another console just so poor innocent souls can rake more money into Nintendo's gaping maw.
I wish they'd just take their time fatten the budget a little bit, if that's all that's holding back the technology. Much as I don't like the arms race game development has become, developers being unable to work with the software due to constant updates and patches is a real and serious issue. This fear of taking risks is in direct opposition to the "spirit of the movement" that made Nintendo the giant it is/was, it's what's tenderizing the gaming market as a whole, and if it's what sinks Nintendo's console battleship, I'm going to be more than a little depressed. ...Granted, if that happens, maybe Sega will think about jumping back in the ring :L
