Well I wasn't sure where to put this but here seemed like the best place for it...

Anyway my wii remote went missing for a few weeks...I found it behind a sofa today, I put in some new batteries turned the wii on pressed A on the controller...Nothing, so I fiddled with the batteries and tried again, and again, nothing. The blue lights don't even flash I was wondering if the things totally screwed or weather its just a common fixable problem? help please?

You sure it's not just wrong batteries or something? Try putting new batteries in it for a bit and fiddle with them too. If nothing happens, you probably need another one.

Hrm... It depends how long that was back there, electronics can just flatout die from long-term inactivity.. 0.0 Sorry to hear this... (that poor Wiimote T_T)
Also if your Wii still has its warranty you could probably send it in to get fixed, which is better than spending 40 bucks or getting a 'used' one. I dunno, that's just what I would do.

    ^was going to suggest that

Are you remembering to go into the Home Menu and synching the Wiimote once the system is on?

How could he do that if he can't even make it work? Really, don't be stupid.

He already stated that he couldn't press A at all. So that means he can't get into the main menu to get into the home menu.

I forgot A gets into the home menu and not the Home button on the Remote. No need to scold me. I also haven't been near a Wii in about..oh, 5 months since I moved back to school.

Apart from that, I'm not sure what really caused it to have issues. My brother's always losing ours, and when we do find them we just end up charging them in their dock. Granted, that's only after one week, but still.

The little reflector thing (where the signal comes out, on top, I have no idea what the thing is called) isn't cracked at all, is it?

Inactivity will often cause the Wiimote to de-sync. If you have another Wiimote, turn on your Wii with that so you can try to re-sync the "broken" one.
