If you seen the news about the car crash, some guy stole a car and they're blaming the police that these 3 people are dead.

parents are telling kids to tell the truth and not to blame each other and they're doing it too.

    WHY PLAY THE BLAME GAME!?!

that's just plain stupid, why would they blame the police? it makes no sense at all. it's just human nature for ppl to blame, but they need to blame the right ppl

Nobody likes to get the blame, & especially for the death of 3 people. It's just easier for us to blame others than admit that we did something wrong.

Remember the story of the origin of the Scapegoat?

Back in history, a village would place all their problems onto a goat and then send the goat out into the desert to let nature take it's course.

We do the same thing today, except without the goat. We find other people/things to blame for our problems since we don't wish to take responsibility for our own actions. Sort of a 'Devil made me do it' thing.

Its a part of human nature that has been there for a very long time, look at the witch hunts from the past "she's a witch" "he's a witch", people blame each other for misfortunes so that they themselves do not have to carry the burden of guilt. Even now criminals blame their upbringing for their excuse of turning to crime. Sadly its not something that will ever change. By accepting responsibilty they are accepting liability.

People like to play the blame game because they can't take responsibility for their own actions. That's why so many people think suing companies is normal these days.

Personally, I think the blame game is wrong. I wish I could never do it, but I know I always will. =/

I figured that above quote is somewhat relevant. Depending on the course that punishment is in action, of course.

I'll have to disagree with some people here. At the top I heard about a car accident blamed on police. I think under many circumstances police are to blame. When they go after people on minor infractions or even major offenses they cause people to speed and drive more dangerously and desperately. This causes accidents. So of course it's both to blame but police have a part in it and should be blamed for reckless and stupid action. Blame always has a place to go, my point is it almost never falls on the right thing.

well for one reason, some people feel very embarassed that they'll even use scapegoat as a reason. Scapegoat is also another term for blaming other people.

Well...as mostpeople have stated, it makes us feel better because blaming someone else takes the guilt and the burden off of us. Also saves us the trouble if we did something illegal or stupid.

And going off topic, you all know from past rants that I beleive blaming anyone is just stupid. Instead of playing the blame game we should all be working togethor to make sure that that what people are being blamed for doesn't happen ever again.

If more people in the world were like this, it'd be a much more peaceful place. The whole "Blame Game" thing, pretty much is just a way to lift the guilt/responsibility from our shoulders. It's usually played more by those who can't handle the pressure. Pretty much the weak willed if you ask me.

    Okay.

Victims: 3 (2 girls both 16, and one boy age 15).

What basically happened was that the 15 year old stole a car and was speeding away from the police at 2 am. It just so happened that at around 2 am, the two girls were taking a taxi home from clubbing all night. The stolen car hit the taxi's rear kill both girls and the boy. Now the parents of the two girls blame the cops. But who the hell let's their kids, especially two young girls, go clubbing until 2 am on a Saturday. Pretty much every girl I know, rich or poor, has a curfew. How do they get off blaming the cops, who were chasing an unpredictable 15 year old who can't even drive, for said accident? furthermore, where were the 15 year olds parents in all this.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce, and parents should threaten their kids with the penalty of an arse whooping or death for as long as they can.

    Alrighty...

Guy named Todd Prater was riding on a four-wheeler with his best friend about 10 minutes from where I live...he was my cousin's best friends' 1st cousin and that he and his friend were just riding around...THere were cops near the area, (which they never usually are) but they were riding down this small hill on the road with a REALLY steep hill..The cops called for them to pull over but they didn't, so the cops rammed the back of the fore-wheeler, causing it to crash into a guard rail...Todd went rolling down the hill...HE broke his neck and his arm I think, but he went FLYING...His neck was caught between two rocks...His other friend just hit and stopped..and was in alot of pain...They all thought Todd was dead, but he wasn't...He was still barley alive...The cops fled the scene...How we all know this? Cause Todds best friend was still conscious at the time but he ended up passing out after the pain...An ambulance came, but they treated Todds friend..they didn't know about Todd...But once his friend gained consciousness, he told them about Todd..but once they got back, he was pronounced dead....They are all pinning his death on him and not the cops! The cops were the ones who killed them and the cops that rammed him weren't arrested...Pisses me off...The funeral was 2 days..the first day over 775 people came..and most of them didn't even know Todd butt hey went to school with him..then the next day more than 1100 people came..They had the funeral at a church at the end of my holler... I felt so bad for him :(

I highly doubt the cops left the scene. They probably went up the hill to wait for the abulance. Again it could've all been avoided had they actually stopped when they were told to.

why do we bother debating these things? human nature and the world are far too chaotic to be talking about things so generally. in some cases it is right to blame in others it isnt, unless you go through every possibility theres not a lot you can say.

^ i highly doubt the police would leave the scence (is this America?) even the bad/corrupt ones wouldnt do something like that. i agree that they should have pulled over, no offence to the boys memory.

I think the cops fled. Come on they are cops. I mean most of the ones you hear about are idiots who can barely function correctly in society. One thing I do know is most cops you hear about are a small percentage and they do think themselves above the law. Why do you think they're cops? Certainly not to uphold the law. It's to feel powerful and to live out some ridiculous fantasy of having meaning. Many cops who commit manslaughter aren't convicted. Seriously, they can go around shooting people and as long as they make it seem like an "accident" they're covered. I may be seen as a conspiracy type but what I say is true enough. Sure most cops are fine but then you get the kind that shoot people over a fender bender(It happened. I think the guy got off too.)

I know that no one is perfect, especially those that have to enforce the law. For a long time there have been incidents of power abuse, racial profiliing, etc. But the fact of the matter is that not every cop is like that. I'm also pretty sure that the situation was far more complicated than what Rikus#1fangirl mentioned. I'm pretty sure the car didn't do a fully speed bumb, and more or less trying to slow the ATV down as opposed to sending them flying to their deaths.
