Roxas was born when Sora became a heartless. Sora becomes a heartless after you free kairis heart. Sora gets his heart freed before leaving hollow bastion. They go back to Traverse town where she gives him the oathkeaper.

Also you cant get the oblivion since you fight riku in that room and right after you become a heartless.

But most logical reason would be is that they were just the most obvious keyblades to use. I mean using world specific keyblades would confuse people and we would just have this same thread (only more frequently) with people saying 'why did roxas have so and so keyblades'.

Because it Roxas is from the Twilight, he is in between light and darkness.

Kairi gave Sora the Oathkeeper which represents the Light side of Sora. The Oblivion Keyblade can represent the Darkness where Roxas was once a member of Organization XIII or semething. Or if you go by the true definition of 'oblivion' then that could represent Roxas's "forget-ness" of being Sora.

So basically, the Keyblades are symbolic. Or something like that. Seriously.

Oathkeeper - Is the weapon that is related to Kairi and is Light. It was she who gave the keychain to Sora in KH1 with an oath to return it. As such, Roxas, who is Sora's Nobody, had it and it ties to Kairi, who is Sora's friend.

Oblivion - was given after you defeat Riku in KH1. It was tied with him. Also in KH2 in the battle of 'Deep Dive', he even takes it from Roxas after Roxas hurls it at him and Riku ended up in his way giving it back to him, when he thrusts it in the ground by him. It also represents Darkness.

Both Keyblades tied to representing the ties and bonds Sora has with Riku and Kairi, and thus tying Roxas with them as well.

Because Roxas is mixed; half dark, half light.

The Oathkeeper and Oblivion both resemble dark and light, so therefore he would be the best holder.
