Kingdom Hearts II Why number 13 for Roxas?

I thought that Nomura put slapped the number Thirteen on them, not because they were unlucky for anyone to face or come in contact with, considering Demyx and all, but rather, that they were a unlucky group that had lost their hearts individually, to the point where they can't feel or have emotions, and now have no place in the world. Hence, the name of, Nobody :D. It can mean many things, as 13 is a great symbolism, and it can also attribute to being doomed. The Organization was not stable, and they had constant problems of betrayal and defects, not to mention all of them were lost. Thus, the group itself is unlucky.

If it's Roxas being number 13, is because he was the last to join. That's obvious.

 

As others have said, Roxas was the 13th member to join the Organization. All of the members were numbered according to when they joined so Xemnas was 1st, Xigbar became the 2nd member, etc. It is notable to mention that though the numbers were their order, it did not necessarily signify their positions in the Organization as we can see in CoM, Marluxia had been given the rights to watch over Castle Oblivion and those who attended there and he was just Organization member 11. Their chairs actually were used to identify their statuses in the Organization and if you had favor with Xemnas, your chair would rise, or it would fall if you fell out of favor with him.

 

I think nomura wanted roxas to have not an unlucky number but the fact is that is an odd number that is least used.

Number 13 is my lucky number.Choosing this number was how i got a girlfriend(not going into details).

Well I guess since it was the next number(11....12....13) I mean it would make people suspicious if he skipped 13 just because it is perceived as unlucky. We really have no proof that the number is unlucky.

well i have to say it doesnt matter what number Roxas was it just sounds stupid to have a diffrent number for the organization.

Well here's my idea. Frst they were Org. XII and they were all really happy! Even Larxene wasn't a total b**ch! Then Roxas came along and they all slowley lost their minds. Evetually Xemnas just SNAPPED!!!!! So he said: "YOU ARE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!!! THUS YOU ARE NUMBER XIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And he was all: "Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook?"

 

i think he was a last member because he was also the youngest.

Probably in "Birth by Sleep" we will get the answer .. =]

nomura probably wanted it to be "organizaton xiii" (13 being an unlucky number) and he probably wanted roxas to be the last one joining the organization. and as far as i know, when u enter the organization xemnas or w/e gives u the next number after the person who entered before u. so since roxas entered the organization last (excluding xion), he was number xiii

 

Roxas is the last one to join the Organization. (Other than Xion, but she never counted.)

 

Roxas' number is 13 because he joined after the 12th.

13 comes after 12.​

 

It was just because he was member 13, not because they wanted to give him an unlucky number.
