Kingdom Hearts II Why Nomura!?! WHY!!!!!!!!!

PS3? I don't have one yet, so... yeah. but I may get one! Keyword: MAY.

 

that's the greatness of handheld for ya. =D Despite the graphic drawback, I wouldn't mind if the next one is on a hand held. I just want more KH.

 

I think some of the people that are replying are missing the basic point behind the rant on the first post.

Portable systems can only do so much.

Limited control. I completely agree. I hated looking at a little 2-D Sora jumping around things that made my depth perception completely die. CoM was an average SE release.

Moderate voice acting. If any at all. I LOVE hearing the characters actually talk, instead of the little scrolling sound the words make. And with all the new characters being introduced in Birth by Sleep, am I the only one curious to hear their voices?

Undeveloped graphics. This goes along with the limited control. You can only do so much with pixelized sprites. Granted, the FMV's on CoM were okay, but not nearly as advanced as the FMV's on KH I & II.

It's not that we hate portable systems, they're great, it's just that with how much SE has put into the trailer of the next installment, AKA Birth by Sleep, I don't see why they would stoop to portable systems and make us all wish it was better, and imagine everything in higher quality. Wouldn't we all like to actually see it like that?

 

The PSP supports all those functions pretty damn well I'd say. :/ Granted, it can play movies.

It's like a portable PS2.

 

I think that's kinda the point... to be a portable PS2. But limited VISIBILITY would be a problem as well. Small screens drive me crazy. That's why I would NEVER be able to watch a movie on a PSP or iPod.

And, just asking, don't kill me, with a PSP, if it's really sunny outside, like with any other electronic device does it make the screen look really dark. I've had that problem with my Gameboy DS.

 

I know. But with the way you went on about 2D sprites and no voiceovers, I thought I should reiterate, lol. P:

While I have no problem watching movies through my PSP, I'll admit you're right about the sunny thing - it happen to anyone I believe. But it's not like it's a flaming sunny day all the time either, and it's just a question of finding yeself some shade. :D!

 

The above is pretty much the reason why if the next game goes handheld, it's most likely to be a spin-off/add-on title. The main storyline of KH (Sora's Story) will most likely stay on the graphics-heavy consoles, mostly because the capabilities are a whole lot better.

 

Yay! Someone to share my rant with! XD I've though about this more, and I now think the PSP wouldn't be so bad. At least there would be voice acting and no sprites(there's something REALLY non-threatening about sprites). Could you imagine that bald evil dude as a sprite!?! I would have difficulty playing the game because I'd be laughing so much! I don't own a PSP, but I did some research and the graphics aren't that bad. However, I still would prefer joysticks. I just hope it's not on the DS.

 

If the game is on PSP then I'm all set. PSP is like playing a PS1.75 game in the palm of your hands.

I think it'd be interesting, I don't consider COM a flop but merely a side installment. I'm really not disappointed in the least, as long as its on DS. :)

 

What if they released Re:CoM on PSP with the next game. That would be cool.

 

I agree with you, and I hope this doesn't become a pattern with this series (Home Console, Hand Held, Home Console, Hand Held...). Maybe the next Home Console Kingdom Hearts game will actually be called Kingdom Hearts 3 while this latest installment is a middle game like Chain of Memories (though I thought chain of memories was a good game).

 

Meh, it might be pretty interesting to see a KH game on the PSP or DS. (Rather than Gameboy o.O)
And seriously, don't forget that it's gonna be a side story(Maybe a prequel even >.>)
So it's really not any different from God of War: Chains of Olympus.
And Crisis Core.

Both of those games I won't be able to play, since I don't have a PSP.

 

I will prefer it if it comes out for PS2 that the most ppl have,i know that it wont,but i wish to...BTW on PS3,the graphics might be really good^^
