Why is 'Straight' the defalt?

Of course heterosexuality is the default for obvious reasons. People turn out gay because of genes. They do not have a say in it, they are just born with it. I don't think that we should look at them differently because they are gay, they are human beings just like the rest of us.

 

SoraUchiha straight is the default because it built intothe very nature of humanity. It is necessary for reproduction and thats why so many more people are like this. Men were designed to be attracted to women, due to hormones and the five sense's. I am pro-homosexuality but if straight wasn't the default than the species would die, and its as simple as that. Now it isn't as bad due to IV treatment and such so that these couples can adopt a child but still, Homosexuality is still a bit of a nerve to push when brought public. It shouldn't be that way but its soon to change as the change from hetro to homo becomes more widely excepted in the future.

 

I honestly think you're just born with your sexuality or it's created in your very early childhood. I grew up thinking that women and men looked exactly the same besides hair, chest(sometimes >.>) and genitalia. Other than that they look exactly the same. No one forced those thoughts onto me. It just happened so.

It seems to be you're either straight or gay in the world. Bisexuality is ignored a lot I noticed even amongst the Church and other religions. As for asexuality and such they are what the world is trying to force into your mind. To ignore what you really feel.

In conclusion though, straight is the default because that's whats needed to procreate which doesn't make sense if people say you should only have sex if you love each other. Don't need love to procreate. I'm sure the whole sexuality diversity will be settled eventually just like every other problem humanity has had with each other. Just give it time.

 

Most people's parents are straight, and kids take after their parents, therefore making them think straight is the default.

 

Homoesexuals can reproduce. Many do. Men often have their sperm used in some sort of in vitro fertilization, have a woman carry and deliver the baby, and keep it. Women will have a similar procedure, though they'll simply use a sperm donor. Personally I don't see why they don't just adopt, but whatever. Homosexuals can pass on their genes... just not in a "natural" manner.

And personally, with homosexuality becoming so much more open and accepted, I think it's really just safer to assume that everyone is bisexual, unless you're told otherwise. It's what I try to do. :]

 

But IVF isn't the default either, so how is this relevant?
