Kingdom Hearts II Why is Kairi on Memories Skyscraper?

This is lame, but, because of a post on the khtumblr fanon, I noticed that if you look in the Deep Dive ending of KH1, during the whole sequence where Roxas and Riku fight in TWTNW, an image of Kairi appears on the screen on the skyscraper. This can be seen on this video:

at around 2:10, and various other times as well.

I think this is because since it is Memories Skyscraper, it shows memories. Roxas doesn't know about his memories (well, Sora's, technically), but they exist in his mind, and so maybe that's why the Skyscraper was showing this. I don't know if there was another thread about this, I'm tired and too lazy to check, but if there is merge this post into the thread I guess?

What are your thoughts on the images of Kairi?

 

I've noticed & wondered about that too but I've read in wikipedia that since the organization created the world that never was the world doesnt have a heart like all the rest of the worlds do so the world it self is a nobody. & since nobodys have memories to live by so does TWTNW & memory skyscraper happens to be the memories for the world & its playing all these memories that looks like it's mostly from sora.

 

I questioned this before as well; I think this skyscraper revolves around sora and all of his memories, though it's Roxas he is a stand alone repilica of Sora himself. - But mostly I think she's just their because of Sora's memories, eh I wouldn't think too much of it.

 

It's probably because of some of the events of Days. I know it sounds crazy but think about it. If Roxas was slowly regaining Sora's memories and if he absorbed Xion (who contained a good number of his memories in her as well) then it's safe to assume that they're all inside of Roxas somewhere. His encounter with Riku probably brought them back out of

I never noticed it at all ever. I wouldn't look to much into it. Mainly because it's things like these that draw out very badly made explenations and conclusions.

 

Maybe its becoz shes related to both fighters i dunno the actual answers to this

When Roxas killed Xion any memory of her existence started to fade. When Riku and Roxas cross paths along that tower and grabs Roxas' second Keyblade (inherited from Xion) Riku have some memory flashes. Not of Kairi, of Xion, which makes him both remember Xion and understand that she' s dead. This is confirmed by their lines a little later : Roxas still remembers Xion but he calls her "she". Riku replies : "Her ? You mean Xion ? It' s a struggle just to remember the name now, isn' t it ?" The more Roxas forgets Xion the more he remembers Kairi, meeting Riku fastened the process. There you have it !

 

It was just an easter egg. It's only by total coincidence that something similar managed to become a plot point in Days. That's really all it was, nothing more nothing less.

 

I was thinking this, too. I saw Kairi in it after watching finishing KH a couple of times back in 03/04.

Except that Nomura's confirmed what Spazz thought. The Memory's Skyscraper projects people's memories onto the screens. I think that Nomura did it on purpose. It most likely was an easter egg at the time but seeing as how the scenario writers had to add all the other little bits into KHII it's not a stretch to think that he decided to add that bit into Days once he came up with the idea of spin-offs.

 

That's probably it, besides, it was a trailer before even Days was even considered to be released.
