That talented, musically gifted, geniuses such as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach have videos with about 10 million views.
    Then we have Justin Bieber...
    Your average Spider...

WITH OVER 30 MILLION VIEWS HOLY SHYAT

It's because (most) teenage girls are idiots. Seriously, look at what is considered popular these days: iCarly (supercrap), Justine Beieber (megacrap), Ke$ha (unmeasureablecrap); all of these things are directed towards teenage girls who will like anything that is shiny, pretty, or annoying. If they actually used their brains, these three thing wouldn't be in existance right now.

    It's 300 million, dummy. God.

Also, why does the song in my sig only have a bit over 10 thousand views? I'll never know.

    It's popular. Not classical.
No matter how superficial and lacking in taste this generation is doesn't change the fact that they're an extremely large group that like that kind of stuff.
If it sells, more will be made.
They'll be less popular once they stop making music.

Besides, it's like that every generation with the "new" music.

Do you know many teenagers or preteens that listen to Mozart? All the younger kids that I know don't like music like that. They like the current music.

Because no sane human being would listen to Masterpieces with Youtube quality.

People who like Mozart can afford to go to see the pieces performed live.

    Youtube is a pre-teen hangout.

Mozart no longer has new releases.

Youtube is low quality, and doesn't bring out Mozart like it does JB.

Classical performances are longer, so there is more time spent on each video.

The target demographic for JB is an ADHD generation, so they switch videos more than the stoic Mozart watchers.

Pick any of them, and there's your answer.

Because nobody gives a fuck about classical music anymore. I love that kind of music but I'm not rushing to it on my ipod (let alone have it on my ipod).

Plus none of those guys have had a new hit in the last couple hundred years. Maybe Beiber should be a good sport and do a cover of their songs to help them out.

I listen to neoclassical music on last.fm.

That probably has no bearing on anything being discussed, I'm just putting it out there.

Because people just can't appreciate the great de-composers
Haha, see what I did there? Cause they're all decomposing right now.

    Er... -Raises hand-

    Violinist of five years here, I have an entire webpage dedicated to embedding classical pieces I like from YouTube. ;__;

I don't think I've ever heard a Justin Bieber song, and I am completely serious... I love classical.

    Vivaldi is my favorite though

While the atmosphere is intact, let's have a Youtube share thread: Classical style. (Neo-Classical allowed, I guess)

    Someone recommend me something good.
