Why do we exist?

Humans occupy the niche of controlling the population in my opinion. Though to tell you the truth, we wnt a little over board...

 

i read it was that god wanted a creature that looked like him and then he put that man on earth and man has grown smarter since so maybe where here to learn until there is nothing else to know about

 

Knowledge, or what we're merely able to make of it at the present, will out "exist" humankind.

 

I believe in God too, but I think he wanted us to think of some secular reasons as to why we exist.

 

I think we just... well... were put here. We didn't ask to come here. We just did. We just are here. Nothing more to it.

 

I don't think this was some kind of deep philosophical question many people here are making it. The guy just asked what job do we do for the planet since all other animals seem to do something or another even if its just filling a place in a food chain.

 

you'd laugh if i told you why i think.

 

Our job is decided by us. We decide our purpose. Whether some are bigger destroyers, creators, designers, healers, etc. Humans fill a variety of functions they choose to. We have sentience so we can decide what we will do. Also, other animals found their 'niches' by finding environments suitable to them and doing what gives them the best chances of survival to pass on genes. We have too, for the most part.
