Why do people love Skyrim so much that they call it "The Best Game Ever!"?

In my opinion, the main quest is the most boring part of the game. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild questlines are a lot more interesting.

That's the only thing I hate about Skyrim. At least I'm not the only one here that hates that meme so much.

Why do you guys hate the game for that? Shouldn't you be blaming the stupid people on the internet, like ourselves?

Skyrim is great if you take a step back and look at the sheer scale of it. As far as actual "role-playing" goes, it does a very good job at that. The graphics are pretty great too and there's a lot of freedom.

And everything else is absolutely awful. The main story is far from memorable and just abruptly ends. The combat is so horrendous that it made me believe that this game really should have had turn-based battles instead(at least then it wouldn't feel like you're playing a two-sided whack-a-mole). Third person mode, why is that even here? The only thing third person view makes you see is how terrible all the character animations are. ALL of them are terrible. I could go on...but it seems like I don't need to.

Actually I hate that video too

because now as soon as someone makes an arrow joke somebody else will post it

You're all fuckin viral scumbags just make your own damn jokes

    THEY LET IT HAPPEN

THEY SHOULD'VE PROGRAMMED THE GAME SO TIGHTLY THAT NO DUMB VIRAL JOKES COULD SLIP THROUGH

I'm actually a complete hypocrite because I still love those STOP YOU VIOLATED THE LAW jokes.

Because I can go back to it a year and a half after playing it and it still feels fresh and new. Thank you mods.

And the graphics are good, not sure how they're not? Combat is fun, with the magic and sneaking about.
Plus i've still not completed the main campaign and sunk 150 hours into it. I call it the best value for money ever.

Honestly, the day gamers don't complain that video games are wank will be the day we actually, as a species, accept that nothing is perfect and that we should be happy for the good in our lives. Then again this is coming to people whose idea of problems in the world consist of slow internet and QTEs instead of famine and disease.

See this is the argument for it that makes me grind my teeth

A game that lets you walk in any direction within 10 minutes of beginning it is not necessarily the one with the most player freedom

Yes, you can do most anything you want in any order, but as a result the game is designed such that all or most of your options are feasible from the beginning, which more often than not leads to them being exceedingly boring

All of the quests resemble each other, just in case they're the first one you tried

All of the towns are painfully similar because they all try to represent the full and complete town experience

All of the skills are either good enough to beat the entire game with solo or comparatively useless due to poor balance

There's no structure, there's no sense of progression, there's no satisfaction for plumbing the depths of the game world and slowly but surely unfurling its mysteries

    There's just

    more rocks and trees wow

    grats u did it

    u found the trees

    gj hero

In addition I agree with all of this

I never played any other Elder Scrolls besides Oblivion and I was just so bored by it. Besides the graphics I really dont see much in Skyrim.

did you know people who play video games are allowed to actually openly dislike and criticize the games they don't enjoy

did you know people are allowed to have opinions and express them, negative or positive, as long as they aren't being an ******* about it

just because a person doesn't lovingly praise every single video game that comes out ever doesn't mean they're a brat who complains about everything and is ignorant to real world problems

people are allowed to dislike things as much as you are allowed to like them

Yeah I mean look at me

I'm tearing Skyrim a new asshole

but I'm also unabashedly in love with Dark Souls

like to the point that I blatantly ignore its flaws and swoon over its very mention

You can have your cake and eat it too and then throw the rest in the trash

That analogy is the real trash here but hopefully you get what I mean

I don't understand why people like Skyrim at all. Like I can sorta get it where people like feeling cool fighting dragons and casting spells, but I think the gameplay could use some serious work. The combat feels so sluggish, and there's hardly any skill involved. Maybe I would cut it some slack if there was an interesting story with meaningful dialogue choices and creative side quests. But there isn't any of that.

flaming dicks in a sandwich Bed of Chaos

When even the developer comes out and says "Yeah we hate this boss too," you know you ain't alone

That and PvP is kind of like if Brawl Minus was real and actually how a game played

Honestly, it's not even the backstab fishing I'm talking about. As a flaw in server design and a centralizing component of PvP matches, yes, it is a problem, but there are a lot of other imbalanced or outright odd choices thrown in the mix. For one, dark magick is kind of broke as hell, lol. In terms of what's possible and how easy it is to set up. But it's hard to even complain because a lot of people take it to the forest and use it on gankers and WoG-spammers. For the most part, either you are perpetrating the foul play (even if you're fighting it) or you're a victim.

So basically Dark Souls PvP is actually Gotham City in video game form
