I'm planning on getting the game. And from what I've heard, it's pretty popular. Don't judge me, It's not really popular in my country. But why is it so popular?

No, the sims let you play god.

But anyway, minecraft is so popular because its a mining and resource gathering game, but unlike most where you just look at a screen and click on building, you get to walk around, making mine shafts, craft weaponry, enchant your armor, make your own custom skins, a lot of things, i only got rid of it because my craptop doesn't have enough processing power.

Every time I catch a post you're already gone ~_~ *sniff*

Don't tell anyone cause this is a secret even the staff doesn't know *whispers* Post-whore . . . Post-whore like crazy. Of course make sure all your posts have adequate substance to them, no spamming or anything of the like. Post in whatever area's you feel comfortable with and you'll hit the mark in no time. Remember though, you only get one name change at three hundred posts. You got seven hundred posts after that till your next name change, so choose wisely. I'm glad I chose the name I did because that's my actual alias, but it started growing old. So yea, post post post ^^

You can make some ridiculous sh*t in Minecraft too.
I've seen a replica Stark Tower, Kanto region, Yankee Stadium, original platforming games, and a to-scale version of Notre Dame.
I myself am working on a 50 story skyscraper. From scratch.

I keep saying this but Minecraft's one of those games where you have to set goals for yourself. You have to come up with projects. Because the game doesn't provide that for you. Instead, it uses all of its resources on making anything possible. If you have an idea of what you want to do, you can be at it for hours. If you don't, well... you'll just wander around going "wtf it's just rocks and trees this is not game of the year."

The achievements actually help a lot with setting goals for yourself. Once you've generated a world, you can spend days trying to get them all.

Yeah but that's only on the 360 version innit? And that will inevitably fall behind on patch updates. And I would guess that it doesn't perform as well or comes with less options out of the box.

No, the PC version has them too. Press Escape during gameplay, then click on the button that says "Achievements." It was there the last time I played, anyway.
