Can't understand why people really like this game, thought that this game was horrible and one of the worst in the KH series..

    Reasons ?

    - It takes 10 to 15 minutes just to beat up one heartless, and even longer in mission mode with a organization member, for a evil group the weapons are pretty weak..

    - Almost everysingle day Roxas and Axel meet each other by the Twilight Town and have a ice cream, but plotwist- sometimes Axel doesn't come ! >_>

-If you press the pause button, the heartless still fight you and some bosses still attack you. Wtf ?

-There was a heavy lack of cutscences in this game and it was mostly all boxed texted speaking, with random grunts or sighs voiced now and again. And most of the cutscences where Riku vs Xion, but without Riku speaking..

    - The missions were basically the same each day, and almost everysingle day was a mission there was only one vacation day and the game gets repetitive rather quickly..

Heard that some people are saying this game is better than KH2, WTF how- why ?

The Roxas, Xion, Axel friendship was the only good thing about the game..

It has its ups and downs. You've basically highlighted the main flaws. Better than KH2? Not a hope in hell. Still fun and a solid DS game? Yes.

I actually fully agree with you on this. I didn't really enjoy the game at all.
The graphics were good, and I still liked the way you fight, but after 30 days it gets very repetitive.
Definetly not what I was expecting.

I agree that there are several flaws in the game play. I think a lot of the game was for the spectacle of it, being able to play as anyone from the Organization plus a few others. To be honest though, I'm in Docyx's boat; I'm biased towards it. The Roxas-Axel-Xion story touched me emotionally. That just doesn't happen. The last time that happened was Cowboy Bebop, and it was deserving of every bias in its favor one might conjure up. I still get goosebumps when I hear "Dirge of the Fourteenth." And this is after slogging through the rest of the game to get to the good part; they still drew me back in so well that I got all choked up at the ending.

I don't think it can get worse than CoM, personally.

You need to equip the right weapon. I've been able to terminate the Soldier heartless with one whack in certain gears.

It's not as if you can't skip it.

That's a flaw, but it's only in Mission Mode.

This is the DS, not the PS2, keep that in mind. Also, Riku did speak. o.o

    Yeah.

This game is on the DS, and DS has so many limits you wouldn't believe.

This is a good game compared to DS limits.

But this game would be so much better on ps2.

Let's go in order with your list of complaints...

    1. That's to make the game more challenging. The only two fights that could be truly considered annoying were those heartless that followed a set path and kept running away and that...Ruler of the Sky(or whatever it was called) boss. Enemies in 358/2 > enemies in KH2. The damage delt is pretty good so unless you want the combat to be all flashy and brainless like KH2, there's really nothing to complain about here.

    2. What else do you expect Roxas to do? If he finishes a mission do you want to see him go to bed and wait for the next one? He's not very...welcome amongst the other members.

    3. I'm assuming you're talking about the multiplayer missions when you play them by yourself. It's a problem that a lot of games nowadays have. You can't have one person push pause and have everyone else in the game wait for you to unpause. That's exactly why the pause does nothing.

    4. It's the DS...this game has really pushed the limits to what it can do.

    5. This game is mission based for a reason. It was done like that on purpose.

    6. Graphically speaking KH2 is better. Gameplay wise...it rapes KH2's mindless button mashing without resorting to flashy moves and cheap(and easy) reaction commands. It's not as good as the first game but it comes close.

As much as I like KH2...once you get passed the flashy moves...most of the gameplay mechanics are useless(such as spells, summons, drive forms, dodging, blocking, timing attacks to block/reflect other attacks, allies, etc.) and the entire game is basically just mashing X or Triangle. The only redeeming factors of KH2 are the story, playing as Roxas with two keyblades, and the Xemnas battles. Oh! Also the game becomes much more fun with all the little codes made available by now...<<

Well fist thing I want to point out is that enemies have 30% more HP in mission mode, that's why it takes longer.

    anyway...

I thought it was a pretty good game. I think it gave a better transition into KH2 than CoM did. I did like how it lead up to Riku vs Roxas and gave a reason for why he had 2 keyblades.

It's true that at some points it did get repetitive, but not to the point where I wanted to stop playing.

not ever having played KH 1 or 2, I can't really compare them.

My own humble opinion, this has just as much button-mashing as KH2. But then again, I am big on button-mashing. I find it fun.

This game's cool cause of the story and the random tidbits of character and info from the other Organization members. However, and once again, my own opinion which I will totally not mind if you ignore, all the rest of the games had superior stories, mainly cause you didn't already know one of the main characters was going to disappear in the end.

    Response to complaints:
-It takes 10 to 15 minutes just to beat up one heartless, and even longer in mission mode with a organization member, for a evil group the weapons are pretty weak..
    1. Their weapons are kinda weak until you get the right gear. Xaldin kills me. He just...pushes everything away.

    - Almost everysingle day Roxas and Axel meet each other by the Twilight Town and have a ice cream, but plotwist- sometimes Axel doesn't come ! >_>
    2. I think that was to let younger players know something's up...I mean, they need a little bit more than context clues to follow the story with its puppets and nobodies and why does Xion look like a emo-Kairi?

-If you press the pause button, the heartless still fight you and some bosses still attack you. Wtf ?
    3. For reals? I've never noticed that.

-There was a heavy lack of cutscences in this game and it was mostly all boxed texted speaking, with random grunts or sighs voiced now and again. And most of the cutscences where Riku vs Xion, but without Riku speaking..
    4. Well...it is the DS. The best game I've ever played on the DS was Trace Memory, one of the very first ones to come out, and though wonderful, sometimes it just looks silly. And! There are NO cutscenes like in 358/2 Days. As for the whole Xion/Riku thing, are you talking about the nice-looking cutscenes? Cause I mean they only had three, counting that 15 second one, and Riku talked in all of them.

    - The missions were basically the same each day, and almost everysingle day was a mission there was only one vacation day and the game gets repetitive rather quickly..
    5. Yeah, I hated the missions. Especially ones that tested you, like when you had to get those shields? FAIL.

Better than KH2? That's crazy! Days did have some flaws, and that made things not super-terrific. Like the storyline itself. It was EXTREMELY slow moving and uninteresting for the most part.

Overall, it was an okay game. The concepts and ideas of it (at its greatest moments) did impress me. Like how they managed to explain Xion's existence; that was kinda cool. Sad, but cool. Really, the best part of the game is the ending. It's a good way to work it right into where KH2 picks up.

There is no possible way that this game is better than KH2. KH2 was the best so far, and I highly doubt that something on the DS could ever beat it.

I agree that it did get repetative, and that it does make it seem that the Organization is weak. However, it does have some advantages.

It's the first Kingdom Hearts game that allows mulitplayer.

    It's portable. ^o^

It's the only game where you're not mainly playing Sora.

You can play as all of the Organization members, meaning you can fight with something else other than a keyblade for once!

I'd say that overall, Days was an okay game. I would probably agree that it is the worst in the series, but only because the other games are just that good.

i do think it was the worst KH game but from what i heard, it IS one of the best Nintendo DS games. i thought that the plot was somewhat engaging. i never did have a chance to try the multiplayer mode, so maybe that would've been fun. i didn't like how so many of the worlds and maps were just recycled from the previous games. what i DID like about this game was the difficulty, i think they really toned it up quite a bit from other KH games. but yea, i was honestly pretty disappointed with this game even with it's redeeming qualities.

I can't really compare Day's to KH or KHII because I never played them. But I thought it was a good game, and I found it entertaining. While it may not be the best game in the KH Series I found to be one of the best DS games I ever played: graphics, voice acting in cut scenes, that's A LOT for a DS.

Hmm... this game is kinda disappointing..
the Limit Break is almost worthless.
    especially vexen's.
    well..
i just have some interest in this game.
that we can play as the Organization XIII members, and, there's a lot of character that can be played.

woah there tiger! who said it was better than kh2?

but it was an exceptional game, considering the limits of the ds.

it was better than CoM. that game buttfxcked me. *facepalm* AND ! the pause-attacking issue was not only for mission mode, it happened when it was me vs infernal engine. i'd give it 4/5

I have to agree that the game was really not that satisfying to me compared to the other KH games. Then again, focus on Roxas didn't interest me so much because I didn't really go gaga nuts over the character. I bought the game in hopes of learning more on other Organization members and well, to just do what happens in other KH games, and beat up on stuff. I fortunately did not expect the story to be that great as in CoM, Sora's side of the story until later on in the game was pretty dull. This game did the same with Roxas and well, it had it's moments but was pretty dull otherwise. It has its merits and isn't horrible but on a scale of 1-5, I'd have to say it was a 2.5 to me. I have better hopes for BBS which has new characters and some old, and may give more details.

Days is one of the best DS games out there, but is it the best in the series? Not a chance. Is it the worst? Nope, I think CoM wins that one. I liked learning about the Organization, it made some of the characters deaths more meaningful. When I replayed KH2 I was even more devastated when Axel faded, I've liked him since day one. The game is mission based, surely they can't have 100 different styles of missions. The missions just got increasingly harder as they went along. A flaw for me was the panels, I was never good at setting them up. Overall the game was decent, especially the graphics. I was surprised at the quality, especially remembering how horrid CoM were. Plus I love Roxas, it was great to see things from his eyes and this game flowed in nicely with KH2.
