why do cartoon charactors wear gloves?

to keep their hands clean, silly! lol or to do alchemy! :D

 

It might be easier to animators to make gloves than details on hands. Either that, or they just look more heroic with gloves on XD

 

Cartoon characters wear gloves becasue they have weak immune systems and dont want to get sick

 

Because gloves protect there hands, and are a cool design and accessory. That's my opinion

 

There are afew reasons,

1) gloves look cool
2) they protect your hands, good when holding a weapon.
3) Disney ain't the best at drawing hands *slight cackle*
4) What Mickey wears, everybody wears *nods*

 

It makes their hands easier to see. Simple as that.

 

Well, the things is that big is easier to draw than small.

That's why they have oversized gloves.

Easy as pie.

Theory One: Because whatever is underneath thier gloves needs to be censored.
Thoery Two: It's cliche'.
Theory Three: They're born with them on.
Theory Four: Walt Disney started it and he felt they were empty without them. Everyone else just caught on.
Theory Five: Walt Disney couldn't draw hands, then everyone else decided, we can't draw hands either.
I can go on, but I don't feel like typing that many.

 

I personally think it's just Walt Disney's trademark and style for the cartoon characters. Whenever somebody spots those familiar white gloves, they notice that the characters are from Disney.

As for Sora, I think it's meant to help him have both a grip on the Keyblade and for style emphasis. The gloves are too detailed for it just to be an easy way out of drawing bare hands. That's my opinion, anyway.

 

Honestly, I just think it's cause gloves look cooler than bare hands. There might be other reasons, but that's the main one, in my opinion. Gloves look cool. Anyone disagree?​

See, I'm jealous of all these main characters that can just walk around wearing gloves and not appearing weird...stupid society

 

Well, I don't think video game characters think about if they're going to look weird...thats why they have all those crazy outfits.

 

One of my drawing books says that cartoon characters wear gloves because it emphasizes their hand motions. o.o

 

Come to think of it... Yeah you're right. I really kind of wonder why that is. Hmm.... I should look that up or somehting...

 

I really don't know.
Some modern glove-wearing characters just look badass with them.
Other characters just...I don't know. Maybe back then, it was the trend. xD​

 

i think it may be because it is difficult of the texture on the hand, like all the wrinkles.

 

You might be right. I hate drawing hands because of nails, wrinkels and blabla..

 

in my doodles i always draw humans with gloves on, so much easier.

 

removes stress for drawing nails.
