Why are we Alive?

Story:

Okay, today I was meant to be doing ICT. We went to the Mega ICT suite but then got sent down to a Math room. Our teacher asked us to draw a stick man/woman and label it ourself. Then he wrote a question on the board and on the other side of the paper, answer the question.

"Why are we Alive?"

Is what he put. We started to work in silence and then we picked some people to put thier answer on the board. I put mine up along with others and then we all got into a BIG discussion about this. Why are we alive really? If kids steal something from you, is it really wrong? Its like, everyone has a routine in life so why can't we just all of a sudden go to town and strip butt-naked, running around? Are laws truely right for us? All of these things were tossed around.

I put that our bodies are really just shells that soul inhabit to use to change the world slightly. What we do changes something right? Thats why I think we're alive.

 

The reason we cant just run naked because it ofends people as to why are we alive I believe we just are there is no reason we are just here and for laws you say are laws right for us if there were none we could just go around and kill people over all we are just here.

 

If you want a real scientific reason, we only live to produce the next generation of our species. In a more philosophical sense, it really depends from person to person, since we all do different things as far as philosophies go.

 

But WHY does it offend people? Its your natural body, everyone, male or female, has the same things on the outside, just slightly different!

This man speaks sence.

 

To observe the universe. The universe is only the way it is because that is the way we perceive (sp?) it, and without life in the universe to perceive it, in theory there would be no universe. Life is needed for the universe to be, and thus we live.

Or that's one theory at least. lol.

 

I dont know why I dont have a problem against people not wearing anything but some people are offended but Im not one of them.

 

To me, it's not really the why about being alive, its different.
I went through a series of episodes which in the end made me want to just kill myself and leave my life behind. But I just couldn't bring myself to really do anything like that. I never knew why but when I reflect about it I always think its because this life we have is all we know, I mean we may just die and never come back or become re-incarnated but its not like any of us really know so I want to LIVE to the best my life will let me. That or the fact we all have that fight for survival trait we are all born with.

Still, I would say its never something defined with words. Its what you feel, what makes you happy...and sad, what makes you feel ALIVE, the rush and calm and total drama that life brings you. Still thats only my opinion! :)

 

^This. We exist, biologically, to procreate and spread our genes as far as possible, protect and nurture our young, and kill those who would threaten them.

Biologically speaking, that is. In a more human sense, I feel that we exist to contribute something to the sum total of human knowledge and experience. There may not be a god watching us and guiding our lives, so we have to provide our own meaning, and for me, that is to improve the world in some small way.

 

"Why are we Alive"... we live because we must find our purpose here in this world.

 

If anyone has ever seen a more beautiful example of circle reasoning, I'd like to see it. Seeking a purpose means seeking an answer to the "why am I here?" question. Thus you may not answer that question with the way you did.

 

Because fortunately sex is something wonderful and not something painfull.

 

well i can't give you an answer that's the thing, all people have different ways to look at life and how they live it

Yeah, and that has clearly been discredited.

Simply, because we were chosen to live. No one really knows why we are alive it just happened.

 

You really need to get older. You are too young to talk about this.

If you really are interested:
There are cultural codes that are made by the majority of people in a society. Nude body in modern society is connected to sexual behaviour. Sexuality then again is a personal thing in the society. This personal space of sexuality is sometimes violated in crime, therefore people get offended in the first place about nude body. I was serious about you, the OP, getting older first. You are in that age, when all these things just come up in your life.

 

I swallow my previous words.

 

I think the meaning of life is to question life itself. To question your "superiors" and to follow through with your own ideals. To understand when is the time to act for yourself and to stop being dependant on others. If there is a God out there, he wants us to mold our futures with our own hands. He doesn't want us to actually FIND the meaning of life, but he wants a species of people who can understand the actual significance in His creation and, with those answers, to find the resolve to carry on our own ways of life. Every human's destiny is to follow through and act with their own ideals. Those who are inspired by others aren't exactly an exception, but intertwined with the ideas that person left behind.

We're not here to save lives or move the hearts of the masses, but to live our own stories while constantly questioning what it is we're seeing in front of us without coming to an absolute answer. With those ideals, we compare to what we see in others and we continue to question our own realities. In the end, God is an Admin, life is a forum, and the world forms the threads.

In short: The Future's in your hands. What are you going to do with it?

 

Because there are so many disputed theories about this question, there is no possible answer.

Everyone has their own opinion on this subject, and as long as there are people trying to convince others that their answers are the only one (such as certain religions, cults, philosophers, etc.), then no one's answer is everyone's answer. Therefore there is no answer.

Two plus two can't equal four for one person and seven for another.

Because there can't be a concrete answer to this question, I never really bother wondering about it. So this is my answer. Not to say that there won't ever be a concrete answer, but currently there isn't one.

Not trying to impose my views on anyone else, just offering another viewpoint on this lol​

 

All in All (in my opinion)

We have no right to be among life in the universe-we haven't earned it-Were destroying our planet and killing each other and other organisms that had been here eons before us-"God" (If any) created us and we destroyed God-We kill for no reason because we have no reason-end of.

 

We are alive because God wanted to see his idea of cars come to fruition on the physical plane.

Alternately, because he wanted to know how to make bagels.
