Me: So did you have a good Valentine's sir?
Grandpa: Yes I did, ma'am. I spent it with my wife and it was wonderful.
Me: *smiles* That's good
Grandpa: Did you do anything special for Valentine's day?
Me: Um... no... I just got candy from my friend and her mom.
Grandpa: Your boyfriend didn't give you anything?!
Me: o.O I don't have one.
Grandpa: WHAT?! What do you mean you don't have one?! A pretty girl like you SINGLE?!
Fellow associate: *whirls around* You're single?!
Another worker: Nu way! Dashie, you can't be single!
Another customer: Shame...

Most people tend to be surprised when they find out I'm not a lesbian. Not really though? I just sometimes feel like I give that impression all the time.

I did get hit on by an old man at work around Valentine's so I considered that enough

Me too, me too. I have this friend I've been with for eight years. We're closer than friends actually, in a sister-sister relationship. We're both straight as a board, but we tend to act sister-like in public and everyone looks at us and says hesitantly, "Are you... sisters?" xD lol, so funny to watch their face. Although when she goes out in public with her gay friend, they ask her if the two of them are dating. :'D

I had the day off on Valentines, and I stayed mostly indoors because I didn't want to get depressed. :\ I did get candy though.

The misunderstandings for me are generally caused by me coming off as a megafeminist. I tend to say things such as "men do not know how to write books properly" and "women are the superior race." I'm of course not saying so (completely) seriously, but my sarcasm is often rather deadpan, so people that don't know me take it seriously. ._.
